Watching the Sox now is becoming painful... but which collapse was worse - The Cubs of '69 or the Sox of '05?

The Red Sox in 78.

And the Royals were really good in '94.

My vote was for Rosie O'Donnell on a treadmill.

The '69 Cubs only blew a 9.5 game lead, I think. The 1995 Angels blew a 13.5 game lead. If the ChiSox keep up their act, I think theirs will be the biggest choke job ever. Not so good. ChiSox still have 5 games with the Indians - they just have to figure out how to beat them and they are set.

Sox in 78, they had a 10 game lead and blew it. The 05 sox have had a much slimmer lead all august - still tough to watch.

Don't forget the 1964 Phillies -- it's really hard to lose a six-and-a-half-game lead with 12 games left. But they pulled it off.

The '92 Oilers against the Bills! They were up 35-3 at the half, but lost 41-38.

2004 KU football vs Texas Tech -

Up 30-3 with 50 seconds left in the first half.

Lose 31-30.

He's right. The Kansas City Royals were 64-51 in 1994; but 4 games behind the White Sox

The baseball strike 1994.

The end of play left the Expos leading their division with a 74-40 record. It was the best record in baseball that yr. (Why is there baseball in DC today?)
Players flirting w/50, maybe 60 homers. Players flirting w/.400 BA.

AND NO WORLD SERIES! First time no champion decided -- even thru other strikes, two World Wars, and terrorism.
