I don't think so. I don't like them, they look goofy (which is saying something from me!), and I have never thought of mixing two songs I don't like as being an enjoyable experience.

I remember back in the day when when hardly anyone knew what mash-ups were. Now that they've hit the mainstream, everyone thinks that they can just throw two songs together and that the result will be a good thing™. I'm not dissing all of them because I know that there are still some good ones out there; some that even you may like, ghporter

Mash-ups, if done right, are great. Mash-up town's stuff (usually heard on Daily Source Code) has some great ones.

Whenever a topic says "Not Spam" in it, that is usually a sure sign that it is.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

Green Day is a well known band that is probably fairly popular among the readership here. Perhaps it would be spam if the original poster had some relationship with the band, but I'm betting s/he is merely a fan and found this interesting. A mod has already posted in this topic and not closed it, so it would seem it is acceptable.

I suppose. I just hate electronic communication that says "Win $$$!" in the subject.

"mash" what a load of crap.

Its called "mixing" and people have been doing it with Hip Hop and dance music for over 20 years (and other forms of music since the 60's).
Just because middle class white people do it now does not mean it needs a new name.
