The Manchester, UK Apple Store at the Trafford Centre is now under development.

You can see my latest photos of the store here :-

http://homepage.mac.com/idparkinson/...oAlbum132.html

I will post updates as soon as more progress can be seen.

The store is located on Peel Avenue on the upper floor of the centre, between "Clintons Cards" and "Dolcis".

It is directly opposite "Carphone Warehouse" who are currently the only UK store stocking the Motorola ROKR iTunes phone. They have a display phone in store for demo.

the trafford centre is my idea of hell - i've managed to only visit it once [out of necessity] since it opened - on the other hand, it would sure beat having to drive all the way to warrington for apple goodies.

It doesn't look like it's going to be a huge store. Is it more of a mini store or does it actually go back a long way?

They do indeed go back a long way; light cannot escape from the far end of the Bull ring centre store!

OK, seriously guys. What other company takes the time to cut out their logo from the plywood panks during construction?

That's going to be some concentration of Apple authorised outlets there. With a John Lewis on the right hand end, Micro Anvika within Selfridges in the centre of the mall (in a left direction of the photo) and now a Full Apple store in between the two. It will be quite interesting which of the Department stores continues selling the full Apple range (from ipod to G5 tower) with competition from the Apple store.

And to think a few years back when I was looking for a new Zip cover for my G4 tower, I had to take a day off work as non of the local retailers (Manchester & Warrington AppleCentres), even opened at weekends.

Sorry to tell you this, but the Apple Logo is just a large white stick on, it is not cut into the plywood.

I'm not sure when the store is due to open, but it should be some time in November.

I went to the initial interviews and that was the plan at the time.

Very nice pictures Parky, thank you for sharing. Good luck on getting hired.

I actually don't want to get hired. The whole interview process was not up to my expectations and I don't want to work for Apple after seeing what they are like as employers.

It really opened my eyes !!!

When it opens.

It's subject to the variable of "The British Workman/Shopfitter". So, anytime between now and 2035.
