Cute, so what is holding back your decision? I'm sure that your would give him a good home. Good luck.

Our apartment only allows cats. I don't get it. Cats usually screw more things up by chewing and clawing everything. Every dog I've had has been fairly harmless to it's home.... except the occasional 'accident' when they're puppies.

Landlords are normally worried more about the barking than the potential damage animals can do. I agree, it's a shame and a little irrational.

i guess it all depends on what kind of dog you have in the apartment, if its a little one that isnt much bigger then a cat i think its okay, as long as it doesnt bark. but big dogs shouldn't be in an apartment, my buddy has a big chocolate lab and i dont even think that thing should be in the house its so huge. my cat hasn't done anything to my apartment as long as i have had him, besides throwing up on the floor which is easy enough to clean up.

I want a dog too. Unfortunately, I also live in an apartment with the same no dog rule.

I dunno. I've had golden retrievers all my life, and I've just lived in a normal house. Right now, we have like 1300+ sq ft, so it's big enough, but it's all cement floors. I think the thing would probably wipe out a lot. Heh. Across the street is a huge gravel/plant area that'd be perfect for walking. Maybe I should just get one and tell them it's a cat. Just a non-sucky variety.

I think all apartment properties should have at least some "pet friendly" buildings if nothing else.

its hard to find a nice apartment that takes pets, most are really ghetto - the complex i live in is pretty nice and has 3 buildings that take cats.

me too. Dogs are great!
I moved out of my parents place to a studio apartment (i.e. freaking small) and left my dog with them.
I go there on weekends to see the dog mainly. But I would never say that to my mum

I'd love to get a shiba inu; but with school, I just don't have the time to give a puppy the attention it would need. A penguin would be cool too.

Yeah, I mentioned that last night. Having a pet penguin would be awesome. Especially going for walks.

I know what you mean, I went to this site http://www.petfinder.com/
and just on the first page alone, I wanted to pick, well all of the dogs. but that was only the first page. didn't dare go to the second page. I think I'm gonna do a dog rescue soon. or 2 or ?
