hey all,
like most people my age in the uk, i have just started (in my case re-started) uni, and am on the super-fast uni network, which doesnt allow p2p. Just wondered what sites you guys are using to get music/videos off of?

Personally, i cant use launch.com on my mac, but i can use aol-music, and found that you can save the music videos to your hdd using the curl command in the terminal.

Maybe some ex-college/uni guys on here could advise the rest of us where you used to get your downloads from?

I never had a university network at school, they make us set up accounts with verizon in our apartments. Someone stole the router we were supposed to get at the beginning of sept., so we've without internet for quite some time. It was rough not being able to check the forums any time I wanted.

You might consider getting a DSL line, though it won't be as fast as the college network.

Maybe you guys could set up SMB shares for your music folders? The college won't be blocking that.

Naturally I assume that all shared music is under an open license.
