I have about 10 of them that hang out in my yard, only seen one tom though.

When I first moved here, seeing wild turkeys was unheard of. Even those that would go out and hunt them came home empty handed more often than not. Now, they seem to be every where. I wonder what prompted such a resurgence of the birds.

Here's a picture of a turkey on my dad's land.

We'll just say it did not die of natural causes.

I used to see them all the time in South Dakota. Kind of cute, and really tastey.

I've seen them in Arkansas (near Little Rock), but the only ones I've seen in Texas have been two old guys at Wild Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation near Kendalia where I was working with a bunch of other volunteers to upgrade the facilities-and they spent the whole time kibitzing and complaining that we weren't doing our work fast enough! What a pair of goobers. Er, gobblers.
And yes, that's a shameless plug for Wild Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation, but what the hey!

We have an over abundance of wild turkeys in Michigan. They are cheeky brave little buggers.

If you're from Michigan, then why do you talk like that? You're not British ya know!

A nice picture? You must mean the first. Because the other should be labeled /crime scene.... because he was murdered! You can see a small hole at the back of the head... execution style. Bastards! I hope you rot in... OOooo spareribs....

Yes, I meant the first picture. You have better eyes than I do, could just be that the person is a good shot.
