I'm looking at replace my cell phone/Tungstan T3 with a smartphone maybe at the end of the year or next year. I've been looking at the Siemens SX66 a bit. My requirements are I want WiFi, Bluetooth, and full Bluetooth usage with my Powerbook. Palm or Windows Mobile, I don't care, but I'm leaning Windows Mobile in since it seems Palm is abandoning it's own Palm OS for smart phones.
The one big catch is I'm on Verizon which narrows the choices down. My family is on Verizon, my girlfriend is on Verizon, so that certainly narrows things down. Free calling is awful nice.
Any advice?

I'm on Verizon and I've got the Samsung 600i. You more than likely can't get it from them anymore... but I bought one online and they hooked it up for me. It does not have bluetooth but it does have the ability with an adapter. If you use Macs exclusively you can use www.pocketmac.net as a means to sync with Tiger. You can still get it online for cheap but it's last year's phone. (but it's still a smart phone so call it what you want) Plam products sync natively with isync but you can use the pocketmac plugin to isync as well.

Yeah, I'm kinda looking for a PDA phone, not a Windows Mobile flip phone.

I'm in the same boat, but with Tmobile. The two major bids for my attention have been the Blackberry 7100t (I think Verizon does the 7100g... essentially the same) and the Sony-Ericson p900. The only thing about the p900 is that it is not inexpensive. Upwards of $500.

I go witha different service, so I'm getting the Nokia 6600 tomorrow or Friday. It is an amazing phone. I played with one today. From just having looked at it Today I can recommend it.

A guy over at Ars Technica is howling at how dissapointed he is with his SX66. He has a real horror story with Cingular's customer service, but he did also say he expected way more from the SX66 considering the price. Although there is no WiFi on the Treo 650 it is still a great piece of kit. I love mine (with T-Mobile) and folks at work are buying these things like crazy. Verizon, Cingular, T-Mobile, it's the new hot item. If you can wait a while, Verizon is going to be first with the Treo 700w. Should debut in Q1 2006.

If I got the Verizon high speed wireless plan with my Treo that might be acceptable. Sounds expensive though.
I'm really looking for a Smartphone running a Palm/PocketPC OS with stylus, not a button based smartphone.

Treo's your best shot then. I hear though, that the Sony/Erricson P900 is pretty sweet. Like I mentioned before, it's not cheap, but a good mix of a device.

The only advice I have: don't get a phone that is smarter than you.
How about this:
