Hockey is BACK yay, let the good times roll. What sucks is most of the games are already sold out

For the first time in NHL History, all teams are playing at the same time tonight

Brian says (9:16 AM): I was looking at houses in Ottawa... I actually have a temptation in me to move
Jeff ******* says (9:19 AM): Eww, Ottawa is gross. It's infested with politicians, and presently, 1 Harper as well.

I can tell hockey is back. The Blues are being embarrassed by the Red wings yet again. Oh how I missed the mediocrity and heartbreak.

OMG, THE KINGS POSTED A SHUTOUT 4-0.....in the first period

Then the Stars scored 5 unanswered goals to win the game over the next two periods.

Shut up Blues Fan, you want to know real disappointment, move to Los Angeles....we don't even have a football team!

Oh, you are referring to the genius Red Wings marketing campaign that actually has people believing that Detroit is Hockeytown USA. How do you convince people that they are from Hockeytown? First have the balls and ego to declare it and then start putting it on everything and eventually someone may start believing it.

Hockeytown USA, established in the mid 90s by some slick advertising agency.

And what ruled, was all the games were on NHL Center Ice for free! *until next weekend*.

Not only did I watch some of every game, but both home/away coverage for several games. What a hoot it was listening to different announcers cover the same game. And to top it all off hdnet had a game too (and lots of good ones this month).

I'm curious how many times Detroit has gotten to keep the Stanley Cup versus the other cities... Really, I'm just curious-I live in San Antonio and we have "professional hockey" that is shall we say "tepid" both in action and local support.

It fits. They use it. You're jealous.

Also from the article (and VERY true by the way):
Think of what the Red Wings are telling you, all in one word:

1. This area is the hockey mecca, bigger than Montreal, Denver or Moscow.

2. This area cares more about hockey than any other sport.

3. This has been the case for almost a century.

4. As a citizen of Hockeytown, you surely find these truths to be self-evident.

It was sell out or near sell out for every game on Wed. http://www.canada.com/sports/hockey/...9-22463f2dba5e

Vancouver games are pretty much sold out for the entire year. Getting tickets for 2, heard, getting tickets for more then 2, atleast sitting together, impossible.

I heard Vancouver tickets for like Nosebleed seats are like $45.00, and that people are paying triple the face value of the tickets to scalpers just to get into the games.

Luckily I live in Los Angeles.

Where for the last time this season, we sit atop the Pacific Division (See Sig)

Yeah, I'm definitely going to order Center Ice. Even more of a bonus is that they are going to show certain games in HD too!

They thought of it first. It means nothing. It was like Al Frankin declaring the 80's the "Al Frankin Decade". Only Al did it to be funny.

Are you honestly telling me that Detroit is a bigger hockey town than Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, St. Paul, Philadelphia or Boston? It's bull. I'm tired of hearing it, and I'm tired of hearing legions of arrogant bandwagon Wings fans repeating it like it's been around for decades.

I remember when the Wings were the bottom dwellers of the Norris division and couldn't sell out a game to save their lives. This stuff works in cycles. Hockeytown won't have the same ring to it when the Wings sink back into mediocrity and some other team becomes dominant.

Thank you, Jane. Well, the "me" decade is almost over, and good riddance, and far as I'm concerned. The 70's were simply 10 years of people thinking of nothing but themselves. No wonder we were unable to get together and solve any of the many serious problems facing our nation. Oh sure, some people did do some positive things in the 70's - like jogging - but always for the wrong reasons, for their own selfish, personal benefit. Well, I believe the 80's are gonna have to be different. I think that people are going to stop thinking about themselves, and start thinking about me, Al Franken. That's right. I believe we're entering what I like to call the Al Franken Decade. Oh, for me, Al Franken, the 80's will be pretty much the same as the 70's. I'll still be thinking of me, Al Franken. But for you, you'll be thinking more about how things affect me, Al Franken. When you see a news report, you'll be thinking, "I wonder what Al Franken thinks about this thing?", "I wonder how this inflation thing is hurting Al Franken?" And you women will be thinking, "What can I wear that will please Al Franken?", or "What can I not wear?" You know, I know a lot of you out there are thinking, "Why Al Franken?" Well, because I thought of it, and I'm on TV, so I've already gotten the jump on you. So, I say let's leave behind the fragmented, selfish 70's, and go into the 80's with a unity and purpose. That's what I think. I'm Al Franken. Jane?

I liked when Al got his kid to take over the Franken Decade.
