Sadly, last week I lost my uncle to spontaneous combustion. There were 4 of us riding together in a car, and when we stopped at a traffic light he suddenly caught fire and then exploded into ashes. I don't understand how such a thing is possible, but the police investigators and the insurance company confirmed that he had "spontaneously combusted".

I want to raise awareness for this condition and I would like to find a way to ensure that it does not happen to anyone else.

I believe it, a woman 5 years ago was found in my building after the smoke alarms went off, all that was left was her legs and she was totallyh burned up, even her bones. But there was no fire damage done to her chair. After that i reserched it a bit and found there have been many cases of that. Think about it we are 90% water and all chemical, it dosent seem impossible for me that a reaction can occur in us to do it.

I've heard spontaneous combustion usually happens with smokers.
Was he smoking? I mean before he combusted, I know he was smoking afterwards.

Spontanious combustion allows the body to slowly burn while not damaging the surrounding areas. you need to have a bunch of fat that would saturate your clothing to keep burning, and a method of starting the small fire. Sounds like EXPLODING to me. and BS besides.

And they want to legalize crack. At the very least, don't smoke it in the car while you're drinking Jack Daniel's.

Your full of ****. Thats just a choped pic of what you had up before. The pic you had up before was taken in a room of some sorts with a checkerboard type floor. I think thats just some screenshot froma movie or something. Where is the blue light coming from? How come we cant see the seat of the car in the background? How about pics of the car where the ashes were?

This is 100% real. If this were just a joke, why would I post a picture of my uncle, seconds before he exploded? I would not post such a sensitive picture if I weren't serious.

I believe him. I haven't seen someone combust before, but I HAVE seen a ghost taking a poo. That makes me a believer, and you all wrong.

Whatever the case, 9/10 doctors agree that 8/10 of us have a 9/10 chance of spontaneously combusting.

m a d r a, I am picking on the people who don't see this is him trying to be funny. The ones arguing with him.

I questioned why they were doing so, when obviously he is just lying to get attention.

Whoever heard of combustion that wasn't spontaneous, anyways?

Close, it was Demonhood.

How could you insult the memory of my dear departed combusted brother like that, DH?

on my annual camping trip to the west of ireland a couple of months ago, i determined to improve my bushcraft skills by only using a flint and steel to light the campfire at night. i can assure you that in the semi-darkness, trying to drop a spark onto a pile of wood shavings, which the wind coming in off the atlantic was doing its best to blow away, "combustion" was most definitely not what i would have described as "spontaneous"!
