Daniel Craig has been confirmed as the new James Bond.

Craig, 37, whose choice will be confirmed by producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson later this week, will be the sixth Bond, but the first blond.

He is NOT YET confirmed........

Everytime there is news about Bond, people start screaming:"IT'S THE TRUTH!"

They want a Bond that is YOUNG, probably 28 till 30 years of age. I don't see that in his face. They have about 10 candidates for the role and he is an actor POSSIBLY suitable for the role. In my opinion, he's way to old for the job. So let's just wait until the news is actually there before we start spreading some unholy words about something that might possibly be somekind of truth.

I need that......

Oh well, never mind. Bond died when that jumped up game show host started letting "Lady M" boss him around anyway.

The lad Goran Visnjic has also made the shortlist of prospective Bonds along with Craig. I think he looks a lot better and reminds me of the young Connery from Dr No.

He looks really good, and he fits the bill as far as appearance is concerned. However, because he is not British/Irish, I doubt he will become the new Bond.

no no no... a man with his eyebrows pointing downward as they part will never have that James Bond look; that's a face of text-book remorse.

for Clive Owen.

But I think he suffers form the same problem as Timothy Dalton, too moody looking. It's kinda hard to pull off that effortless nonchalance the Bond character is know for when you just "look" moody and mysterious.

Timothy Dalton sucks because he looks too 80s, and he had hte unfortunate accident of having twin rodents being afixed to his face above his eyes.

I kind of think its funny that the average age of a James Bond actor in a James Bond film is like 50 years old. Clearly, women want sexy older men with lots of gadgets.

bah. Brosnan was boring. They should get someone totally different, young, etc.

Clive Own is almost too Bond like. They should break the mold.

Ewan Mcgregor, maybe?

...says a man with a Nintendo hat and an 80's-styled car.

Dalton was the best Bond. Dark, moody Bond, that's the way it should be.
Brosnan was too smarmy.

Sean Pertwee could pull it off for a rough look.

Julian McMahon (Dr. Troy of Nip/Tuck, Cole of Charmed, and Dr. Doom of The Fantastic Four) would have made a fantastic Bond.

My car is early 90s japanese sports car mister. And my nintendo hat has nostalgia, unlike the small rodents attached instead of eyebrows to Timothy Daltons head. He sucks.

Why not guys? James Bond has bee Mr. Cool for a very long time. Who hasn`t wanted to be him. Cool cars, cool gadgets, action, adventure, and tons of hot women. Clearly we guys have bigger cultural interest invested in him then women do.

Robbie Williams should be the new Bond. He would be absolutely perfect in every respect.

You ever notice all his "gadgets" are phallic shaped? Cars that are obviously used to make up for cretin inadequacies. You said it "Sleeps with alot of women" he's trying a little to hard to appear hetero. Interest.... well that's you're business.

I'm still wondering why not Pierce again? He's done a fine job and wants to continue in the role. I'm baffled as to why the change.

Yeah, I'd be happy with more Pierce. He's a good Bond; his scripts just suck more than Connery's did.

Come now ... some of Connery's scripts were pretty bad.

"This disguise will make you look like a Japanese man". <sigh>

Connery's stuff was the source for Austin Power's material.

Some of Connery's scripts were bad, but he had a better ratio of good to bad scripts, and even the bad ones were usually campy enough to be entertaining (which is why Austin Powers worked).

Pussy: "My name is Pussy Galore."
Bond: "I must be dreaming!"

Here's a cheery 7-UPper for both of us.

EDIT:

Brosnan back for Bond?

Pierce Brosnan could return as James Bond - despite saying he had quit the role of the suave spy.

The handsome actor - who has played 007 on four occasions - is said to be wanted by film bosses for new Bond film 'Casino Royale'.

A source told website Darkhorizons.com: "All the stuff we heard about Brosnan being out is just a ploy from both camps. The negotiations between Brosnan and Eon came to an end because there were a lot of organisational changes taking place.

"The mood around Sony is that Brosnan will be back. Hence, the reluctance of the filmmakers to say they have parted with Brosnan.

"Sony are not in a mood to gamble on an unknown actor, or with an experienced but unpopular actor. They're well aware that you just can't have any actor in this role."

Earlier this year, Brosnan revealed how his wife, Keely Shaye Smith, urged him to walk away from his 'James Bond' role - in a bid to save his dignity.

The 51-year-old star, who was left furious after Bond producers failed to assure him he would play the spy for a fifth time, says Keely told him to forget the role and show he wasn't desperate for the part.
