No power usage concerns and I would be happy has hell if they came out with one.

Why would I need this in standard keyboards ?
The extra price is for most people not worth the added value.

Since Mighty Mouse, I've been waiting for Mighty Keyboard (Kaptain Keyboard?), It should have a proper USB 2 hub too, not USB 1.1.

Look after my manor, or I will bum you, literally, to death.

every time i get off my powerbook and onto my iMac i ask myself this same question. the battery usage (bluetooth) wouldn't bother me if it was backlit.
