I have Time WArner cable and a DVR cable box.

Usually I can fast forward fine, but sometimes it doesn't work and I have to watch the show in real time (commericals and all).

this happens all the time with certain programs like ER.

I wonder if anyone else goes through this and if it's something the channel or show is doing or just a concidence. Or if that's a problem with my box.

Have you experienced this?

That's how the show is encoded, and the Time Warner DVR cable box obeys orders from TW, not you. If you want to be able to watch only what you want, you need to get a DVR that's independent of TW.

I've never experienced this before; however, I have a Comcast DVR.
