Actually, maybe not. It's possible that Apple got market value for the memory since they were overcharging for it in the first place.

I don;t get it. Having a discounted price for huge volume sales can get a company into trouble? i dont think the riaa of all people would begin to laff yet.

If you read the third article link, Apple has already rescinced from making a deal with Samsung. Regardless of whether the Flash deal was unfair or illegal, Apple has to shop around again for a manufacturer. Getting the same price quote will be nearly impossible for Apple.
I don't know Korean laws, but I don't think they would have a 100% free market that would allow monopolistic practices go unpunished.

A discounted price is no problem at all-but when you discount below cost you're doing something wrong and trying to unethically influence the market (and drive your competitors into the dirt, too). I'm glad that Apple isn't tied into the deal anymore.
