Each internet message board I visit has it's dominant figures, lurkers, idiots and assorted nutjobs, but what i was wondering is there any people out there on the internet that just transend the borders of their little domains and are recognised across the internet.
Are there people that are just known througout the geek world (other than steve jobs, bill gates etc etc)? We're talking real celebrity posters here who just flit from forum to forum racking up the post counts and being a legend/smart arse/funny bugger on all of them?
First person to reply as it being them, or the HA HA HA man will be shot on site.

There's a poster (kansasooner) that lives on a great deal of NCAA football message boards. He's recognized enough that a sign was spotted on College Gameday mentioning him.

Leeroy Jenkins might be pretty famous. I know there isn't one person that plays WoW that hasn't at least heard of him. I would think a lot of other people have heard of him too. If you don't know go to warcraftmovies.com and search for leeroy.
