For anyone who didn't know (I just found out when I drove by), the entire Good Guys chain is going out of business. Yeah, they won't be missed. However, 30% off Apple Software and computer peripherals, plus 20% off desktops and laptops is a good enough reason to go check them out before they go out of business.

I just renewed my .Mac for $70 and bought my mom a Mac mini for $400 ($100 off the lowend one.)

I thought I'd spread the news to anyone who has a Good Guys near them.

Don't bother with iPods. Apparently anyone who knew about Good Guys going out of business grabbed all the iPods (ALL of them, 4G, Photos, Shuffles, nanos) cuz they were 30% off. But when I was there, there were still tons of accessories.

Good luck!

For the record with the release of the new iMacs, Best Buy up here in Canada has dropped the price of the older iMacs to 1200 from 1700. Almost wanna pick one up but of course no reason to.

That's quite unfortunate - just a while ago I wrote a glowing review of their Apple efforts. Now I wonder why they're blowing out the Apple products rather than just having CompUSAs absorb the inventory.

and one in Nevada
heh, right here in beautiful Las Vegas!
I'll see if I can get in on any of the deals... doubtful though, since I don't really need any software or hardware made by Apple at the moment.

I haven't heard of Good Guys before. That's a great find olePigeon. Congratulations on your purchases.

They're (were) big in California. They came out around the same time as Circuit City. Both stores aren't particularly good at anything. They're kind of a BIG Radio Shack, but cheaper. Good Guys is now merging with Circuit City to make one giant, useless chain.

No, OP, they were/are a subsidiary of CompUSA, and CompUSA is apparently subsuming them.
