From a German newspaper, manually enhanced Google translation:
A stranger a cat in Luebeck showed itself little grateful: It had approached a 41 year old man, who was willing to take care of the animal. Already on the next day, the cat disappeared again - with a toe of the man.
According to police data, the man was in the kitchen, preparing himself a sandwich, when he dropped a kitchen knife on his foot. In the accident, the knife cut off a toe. The hurt man went to the bathroom, in order to put on emergency bandages. Meanwhile, the cat snatched the cut off toe, jumped out of the window and disappeared. The animal had approached the man in the evening before the incident.

don't trust cats - i dont trust mine, he is always looking to get into trouble when i'm not looking. he will come when you say his name, when you say "outside" or "food" or "treats". but i can scream "NO!!" at him and he will just sit and stare at me....its kind of impressive actually.

Thats a cat for ya, Mine Listen great and mind very well....as long as I'm around. However they will get away with anything they can when I'm busy or not home.
Its funny because I know they understand that I don't approve of what they do. You can see it in their eyes when they are caught. Cats are very smart, they just don't care. LOL They consider themselves much more equals then subordinates.

Cats don't think they are equal, they think they are better.
Thats what makes them so cool.
