I have a chance to teach a class, the topic of which will be up to me.
I'm thinking of teaching about the idea of Web 2.0 (for those who are not familiar check here)
So I want to cover everything from Blogs, to podcasts, to flickr, to wikipedia.

But the thing is, the classes have to have intrinsic educational value, so I can't just be like "Isn't this stuff cool? Let look around!"

So yeah, I'm brainstorming ways of adding educational value to the lectures.

For example, blogs as alternate media sources - compare/contrast them to classic venues.

Anyway, I've never taught a class before, so I'm finding this a bit tough. I know there are some teachers here, so any advice would be much appreciated.

If you can think of any good lecture ideas, please pass them on.

That's why he's gonna kill us. So we got to beat it. Yeah. Before he let's loose the marmosets on us."

My advice: do not make a gee-whiz flashy Powerpoint/Keynote presentation. Aim for substance, ask probing questions about this technology and its effect on society. Make people think, don't be an entertainer.
