doesn't feel cheap to me, nor plasticy to me

does seem trendy to me

I get along just fine with the OS (seem editing and firmware updates are easy)

http://www.motomodders.net <-- great place for information, firmware etc.

Phone works like a phone should. Speakerphone is great. Signal strength is slightly above (my) average (in my area). Bluetooth works great with my G4 (no sailing clicker though).

I've removed a lot of files that came stock on the phone so I've almost doubled the capacity for storage on the phone (videos, mp3 tones, etc)

Records 3gp/mp4 files (unlimited length until capacity is reached on phone)

The phone is quite good. The few things it doesn't have now will be out shortly on the V3X (I believe is the name)

Who wants a Ferrari V12 F1 Flyby for their ringtone? Anyone? It's freakin' awesome. (sounds/looks nice comin' out of the RAZR too

They are. The SLVR or whatever it is called has iTunes on it. Oh wait... they forgot the headphone jack though. The idiots want you to use bluetooth headphones.

Only this ... is just a goddamn phone. If it works for you, cool. I'm probably going to get a black RAZR. The price has dropped plenty, and it looks nice. I've only owned one cellphone thus far (Moto V600). OS seems pretty friendly enough to me; I've had no trouble with this phone, which is why I'll probably keep up the "trend" with a RAZR—slim, small, cool look to it. Though I am ever so frightened about what society will deem my cool factor from my cellphone purchase! Woe is me!

I don't get all of this "Motorola makes crappy phones" - I have used Motorola phones the last ~4 years (currently the black v620) and wouldn't buy anything else. Love the formfactor, good battery, excelent soundquality and I like the OS.
On the other hand, I have used friends Nokias, SonyEricssons and Samsungs, and to me they all felt big, unhandy and clumsy...

I notice it's the same guys who are obsessed with their phones and worried what people think of them if they have the "wrong" phone are usually the same guys who obsess about the latest movie figurine to put on their desk around their computer.

I bought a cheap phone. Why, because I can reliable make calls on it. Period.

Hey, to each his own I guess though eh?

Me either. Motorola phones are usually built to withstand the military's standard of field use and are EXTREMEMLY reliable.

I've had mine about 2 weeks (Black v3). I love it - it's small, well built (whoever says this is "cheap and plasticy" has no idea what they are talking about), and has excellent reception. That's what I need in a phone and it delivers. "Crappy OS"? lol I don't use my phone to "play" I use it for phone calls and it works perfectly well while at the same time not taking up space in my pocket. I'll be using this for a long time to come. I had a SE k700i and like this 10x more.

I always find these phone threads amusing. People insulting one anothers phones, people crowing about their new phone, really, its one of the high points of my day. I have a cellphone, some motorola, I've used roughly 45 mins of call time in a year. I use it for what its intended for, emergencies and close-to emergencies. Stop talking about your phones and bitching about them between one another like they are some accessory that defines who you are.

If it does what you want it too, then cool. If it's stylish, then even better. I've just got a SonyErricson K750i. Best phone I've owned. Good interface, well built, 2MP camera, works with iSync and iCal and it ran for 5 days without a charge the other day (and I made over 20 calls and sent/received lots of texts during that period).

Wow....Thanks for all the flaming.
I liked the phone since it came out and yes, the price drop plus the corporate deal I got through work was why I could finally get one.

What I was really looking for was how is the battery holding up, any drop it? How did it handle it.....

But again, thanks for the flaming.

I off to starbucks.

For what it's worth, I just got one as well with the price drop (and 3 years of my soul to the cellular provider ...)

the battery is pretty good, I get a decent charge nightly so I really never have any issues. I text, video, bluetooth all the time. There's a high capacity battery that's offered elsewhere, I'll try to find a link.

I've dropped it, usually from a short distance to my tile.. battery back jumped off, no real damage or scratches. I was scared though!

I like my phone

I never noticed Christian using anything noteworthy, but Sean McNamara uses the sexy (but outdated) Nokia 6170.

Best keypad ever and a great phone-only device. No Bluetooth and abysmal storage capacity (for videos, ringtones, etc...). Still, a sexy stainless body. And it's a man's phone. A little thick... A little heavy. It just feels right. Again, outdated though. Don't grab a 6170 if you're into the latest and greatest.

I have the black razr and i love it. Yes it does have a little bit of plastic on it . . (the bottom where the speaker is) but that said, 95% of other phones are plastic too, so why all the flames on this one? Reception is pretty good in my area, and the battery lasts a lot longer than the battery on my e815 from when I had verizon. Overall I think I'd buy it again.

You know how the black RAZR started off as a limited run for a Oscar giveaway, And now it's the best looking version. I think they have now created the WORST version.
It's a PINK RAZR V3 and you thought the original silver one looked a bit 'bling'.
I predict this will be the death-nell for the RAZR's 'cool factor'.

I really hope that this is some sort of 'promo gag' buy the retailer (for Non Uk people The Carphone Warehouse is one of the UK biggest phone retailer chains) but as all there stores have huge posters of this thing in the windows, it's unlikely.

I love how in the drunken mindstate it is absolutely imperative for Ice to mention which direction his phone bounced to. It would have been even better if he used a compass direction:

I'm sorry, dude. I would've met up, but ... well, I just don't have my RAZR yet, and I'm not fully prepared to venture out of my home without it. And ... I heard—I heard—that it just might have a bit of plastic on it somewhere. I'm not sure that I can go in public like this. What would people think? I ... really need to just—look, I need to reevaluate my life right now, OK, IE?

Currently I'm in Tampa - enjoying the 80+ degree sunshine in November. Thought I'd take the Winter off and kick back.

No new computer creations lately - but I've built some nice houses. And none of them used copper pipes, amazingly enough.

You can find me in the War Forum, kicking ass and taking names. I'm still around.

Any suggestions on where to get unlocked phones...
I've had great luck with Expansys. They have local sites for many countries... UK, US, France, etc... They probably don't have the absolute most rock-bottom prices, but the service is top-notch and they are reputable.

I've also bought phones directly from the manufacturers: Nokias and Sony Ericssons. I'm one of those people who'll pay an extra $20 for a no-hassle transaction.

I'll never again buy from an eBay/Internet outfit like MyWorldPhone. Shady, shady, shady... I'd tell you my horror story, but I don't wanna bore you all further.
