Ya it is rather funny. Page two shows why they will not end up like the dreamcast. Personally I was never a sega fan.

When it was announced I mentioned to my friends how they are always first to the market with some half assed console only to cancel it shortly after and come out with a new system. I was mostly correct, they killed it, just no replacement.

I read both pages, and I guess I just don't know enough about videogames to see why they'd even bother making any sort of comparison. XBOX 2 is a sequel to an already popular console, an evolution like PS to PS2. I guess it brings in clicks to the website.

I really enjoyed reading through the first page and indulging in the fantasy that M$ may fail.

Unlike Sega, Microsoft isn't going out of business any time soon.

Maybe so, but it doesn't mean we can't try to make it happen .

Dreamcast failed because it did not have Halo 3!!!! That's how I felt!

Very good points all around. I think that really what it goes to say is that while they are making similar "mistakes," (as in the first page) MS actually has the capability to live trough and succeed despite them, unlike sega (as in the second page).

I will get an XBOX360 once I have the coin, as well as a PS3. (This is quite essential in fact, as my brother took both the PS2 and XBOX to college...)

And to be absolutely honest, I really don't want MS to go under any time soon, even if it were possible. The competition they provide is healthy for Apple, not to mention that we can at least say "hey, look how much better we have it than they do." Really, if Windows didn't suck so much, how could be boast of OSX? But that's getting off topic so I'll stop before I get carried away.

The Dreamcast was a good system. It was ahead of its time in some areas, but lacked in other. either way... I don`t mind picking up fun Dreamcast games for under $4 these days.. on my $50 Dreamcast....

The Xbox 2 has so much more going for it in so many ways. Halo 3 alone will sell games, and having played several Xbox 2 games I must say that they both look good and are fun to play. Plus the whole online game play thing.

Anyways... long story short... I don`t see why everyone knocks the DS controller.
