So I got pwned last night by: 0.5 bottles of champagne, 1 glass of wine, 2 shots of vodka, 0.5 shot of tequila, 1 shot of Khalua, 1 shot of Baileys, and 1 jigger of Cognac.
Needless to say, I ended up in a session of heavy prayer to the porcelain god. Sometime during the night, I managed to scrape myself off the bathroom floor and climb into bed (to pass out again).
My liquor cabinet is now nearly bare, and I think I'll let it stay that way for a little while
Right now, I have a real headbanger of a hangover, and I just puked my breakfast (thought eating something would make me feel better) back up. The coffee pot is on. Any ideas for a hangover cure?

Yes. Drink water before going to bed. (Especially after you've thrown up - that dehydrates you completely). Also the only working medical remedy (herbal ******** does not work or is a placebo at best) is to use allergy medication (this is what doctor's use) before you either start drinking or with your good downing of water (at least half a litre before bed and preferably a glass between each drink).
Not much you can do when the hangover starts kicking in than continue drinking.

Cold pizza and a beer.
And if that pitiful amount got you drunk, what are you like 12?

Water before bed is the trick, but most people just pass out. To cure a hangover, you can do 1 of 2 things. Naturally, like drinking a glass of water with vinegar and lemon juice in it. That will help purge the liquor from your cells and does help. The second is to get wasted again. Usually, a nice stiff Ceaser with spices is a great first drink when getting slammed for a slammed cure.

I have found that Milkthistle supplements work really well. Better still if you take a pre-emptive couple of them before the session.
Artichoke supplements work well when you drink all the water you can before you crawl into bed. They help for over indulgence. I am not really into the whole natural remedy things but my wife got me on to these and they do work, for me at least.

When I'm overhung I force myself to eat a hearty breakfast -- scrambies, bacon, sausage, maybe even some (chocolate chip!) pancakes. I also drink a ton of water like everyone else is saying.

You mixed way too many liquors.
Gatorade and Tylenol. Followed, by as soon as you can, a hearty meal not too spicy with plenty of bread.
Next time you're going to drink like a 15-year-old, take measures to minimize the hangover. That's the best medicine.

Oh yeah. Completely forgot. Get plenty of salt into you. You need to get those electrolytes up.
I am holding my first poker night around my place tonight. I think I might take a couple of pre-emptive milkthistle before hand as it is bound to be a big one

I'm with Maury here. Best cure for a hangover is to not drink owt in the first place.
Or just drink Pernod. That way, you get the hangover before you go to sleep.

If you drink `smart' you can usually avoid a hang-over. If you have one, watch a movie, relax. Drink enough and take care of your electrolyte balance.

There is no cure for a hangover, as it's an imbalance in your body chemistry, other than time, and getting lots of water back into your system. The only thing that is 100% gauranteed to prevent a hangover is to not drink excessively in the first place. Also, the suggestion that mixing different types of alcohol worsens hangovers is a myth.

1) as many have said, you are suxxor at the drinking. that isn't even a warm up to start to get drunk to even think of having a hangover
2) pickles and/or pickle juice. i keep a jar of spear dill pickles and will eat 2 or 3 after drinking (real drinking*, hehehe) with a glass of water.
* real drinking to me means at least a fifth (750ml) of booze or a case (24 cans) of beer. anything less than that shouldn't cause a hangover. and just two friday's ago i had almost 2 full fifths of jack and 1/2 a fifth of hpnotiq camping. i of course, had no pickles with me and had a headache in the morning; but that was it. that was the last time i can remember being hungover. damn me and not packing pickles!

i like killing my liver. i go to the doctor today actually, in about 3 hours for tests. get the drinking in before i have to quit. only live once. i'm not bragging, that is just what i consume. i'm a large person and it takes a lot (and i have high tolerance) to start feeling a buzz. sorry if you feel that is high school..and oh, of which, i never had a drink until i was 21. so it isn't high school all over again.

Lots of fluids (gatorade or water) prior to bed. Use of Ibuprofen at Rx doses (600-800mg) prior to bed, if you don't have stomach problems (bleeding ulcers or gastritis) and when you wake up also. I would worry about Tylenol a little bit as both alcohol and Tylenol can affect you liver, especially in combination. Plus Tylenol, in general, doesn't work as well as NSAIDS, such as ibuprofen.

That's actually not all that much alcohol. My guess is that the mixing got you, not the drink itself.

Ibuprofen & Tylenol usage while alcohol is still in your system has been shown to do tremendous liver damage.
Best bet is to keep the water flowing while drinking. Have a drink, then a glass of water, then a drink, etc. Alcohol increases ADH output which causes you to piss out water and dehydrates you. Keep the water flowing and you won't feel the effects of dehydration (hangover) in the morning, because you won't be dehydrated.

Wuss.
Anyway, I go to Chipotle to cure my wife's hangovers. I don't really get them... I only had ONE hangover, and that was after drinking a 1.5 BOTTLES of wine, a few beers, and 2 really steep vodka and lemonades.

Quit drinking a few hours before going to sleep. Don't drink yourself to sleep. Be sure to drink plenty of water or Gatorade. I would suggest Gatorade, as the salt and sugar will help you more than just water alone. The herbal stuff is unproven - spend your money at your own risk.

Got a link? I believe the Ibuprofen part, but acetominophen (sp?) is rather safe.

Yeah really, if you can drink two fifths of Jack then you are wasting your money. All drinking more means is that you have developed a tolerance, not that you are more manly. I could become a booze-hound and drink two fifths as well, but who wants to spend that much money getting drunk?
Bragging rights for me isn't volume of booze but smoking pot and drinking all night. Anyone who hangs with me in both areas usually spends the night praying to the porcelain shrine, heh.

Like others have said, drink water before bed. It helps a lot. When I am sick to my stomach the next day a greasy green chili hamburger always does wonders for me.

Tyenol is actually much worse in regards to hepatotoxicity compared to ibuprofen - even without alcohol. It is much more dangerous in combination with alcohol, even at standard OTC doses.
Ibuprofen is a very rare cause of hepatotoxicity by itself. I'm not sure how much more risk the of liver problems is with ibuprofen and alcohol combined, but It would have to be less than the Tylenol+ alcohol combination.
Now there other other NSAIDS that do have a higher likelihood of liver problems, but ibuprofen is a better choice compared with Tylenol.

definitely hair of the dog. a cold beer or two is usually soothing, though nothing stronger, you just need enough alcohol to alleviate the withdrawal symptoms (shakes, etc) and take the edge off.

I don't think hangovers are withdrawal symptoms. The are side effects of dehydration.

Alcohol is alcohol. Mixing them doesn't make it worse, it just means you've consumed more alcohol. It's not exactly rocket science.

Alcohol is alcohol?
So you'll get the same hangover drinking half a bottle of Stoly as you would drinking half a bottle of Smirnoff?
Excuse me, but bollocks.
Drinking a mix of six different spirits as opposed to sitting with one will make a hell of a difference to one's morning after.
Disclaimer: I'm not a rocket scientist.

I dunno, Tequila seems to produce the WORST hangovers for me.
BTW, the hangover I had this morning wins the prize for my worst hangover EVAR. Tonight will be alcohol-free. The thought of drinking booze right now makes me feel sick all over again.
...and I poured the remainder of my bottle of Jose Cuervo Especial down the drain (have had that bottle for 2 years and it was only half empty)

Depends how many times they were distilled, and which one has a higher alcohol content. More distillation= less sulfites. Sulfites cause worse hangovers. Higher alcohol content= more alcohol in the liquid, and hte more alcohol there is the more dehyrdrated you will get. HENCE, the more alcohol you drink (in terms of the amount of ACTUAL alcohol in each drink), the worse you'll be. There's absolutely no reason why mixing 'gin' and 'wine' would create a worse hangover than drinking the number of glasses of wine that would equate to the same amount of alcohol.
