So we've got iTunes 6 already, so anyone wanna take a guess as to what iLife's going to look like in the future? I get the feeling Brushed metal is on the way out, so they might nix the theme for iLife with whatever the heck we'd call the new iTunes theme.
What do you guys think? Is it just me or does iPhoto and the rest look somewhat dated in comparison to the new sleeker sexier iTunes?

Actually I wouldn't be surprised to see some features of Aperture make their way into iPhoto. Or some new interface elements through out the suite.

Just gimmie a FrontRow that can play Video_TS files/folders (to support a media server), and I'll gladly pay for Aperture (or Aperture Express).

Salty,
I just heard back from a buddy of mine that happens to live near Winnipeg. He went into a Best Buy in Winnipeg and bought an iMac from somebody, and was really excited.
He IMed me tonight and told me that when he got home, he opened up his brand new iMac box only to discover that it was empty except for a few dumbbells (presumably to weigh down the box), and some cheeseburger wrappers.
Was that you? That really wasn't cool. Are you pulling scams?

I've got 4596 pictures in my iPhoto; about a third are 2.1MP pics, a third are 4MP pics, and the last third are 6MP pics. And with CF card prices coming down/capacity going up, I'd love to start shooting RAW full-time.

Actually you know I don't think I'd mind the new apps as iTunes like apps. I think it really does look better than Brushed metal. Actually I'd love to see Safari and Mail with the new iTunes look as well, ooo and iCal!

Safari Enhancer (search MacUpdate or VersionTracker) can change Safari to the "unified" style.
Edit: added pic.

Who gives a crap how the app looks, as long as the UI provides accurate visual cues, and provides a satisfying user experience? Do you actually make your living using your computer, or is just a toy? If I relied on these apps, I'd much prefer they continue to provide useful features rather than finding new shades of lipstick to coat them with.

A satisfying user experience includes asthetically please looks. Every thing is more enjoying to use when it looks nicer. A lot of people give a "crap". Have you seen the UI modifications forums here? http://forums.macnn.com/gui-customization/
And no, I do not use my Mac for a living. But I use it at home, and if it didn't work as well as it looks than I wouldn't use it.
You are EXTREMELY pretentious, you know that don't you?

Well I confess, I like the look of lots of Apps with the whole Uno thing, it takes a bit of getting used to. That said, seems a bit too light. Dono how mcuh of it is his fault or whatever. I'd actually kind of like to see all of this done with a more iTunes 6 look to it
I do like the way a lot of apps look now though

I'm not trying to impress you or convey a sense of dominance (i.e. pretension), I'm just opinionated. There's a difference.
Obviously a lot of people are into skinning and changing how their app looks, you're right. I don't understand the obsession over these sorts of things, but it was wrong of me to suggest that nobody should care.

I hope that Front row will be available with iLife '06.

You know all the talk of Front Row being part of iLife. I actually don't think it'll be. I think soon they'll start selling Remotes + Receivers. I think Apple will want you using the remote to access front row. I mean really do you wanna start hitting ANOTHER F key for front row?

All the more reason to include Front Row in iLife. Give everyone Front Row (well, everyone that regularly upgrades iLife)... and offer a $49 Apple branded BT remote.
There is simply no way Apple is only going to offer Front Row to a sliver of their product line. I wouldn't be surprised if we hear steve say "We had such a positive response from Front Row, we decided to offer it to everyone.... but because the remote is so critical, we decided to offer that as well"

Isn't an infrared remove receiver necessary for Macs? Maybe Apple could develop a USB connected infrared remote receiver or something?

I'd like to see a nice, simple sheet music editor for Garageband. Now that they've got the sheet music output, it's the next logical step. Logic seems so much more difficult than Finale or Sibelius to me.

- iPhoto will now make triplicates of your photos instead of duplicates because three is better than two.
- iDVD will crash slightly less than a demolition derby car instead of slightly more.
- iMovie will come with a new PowerPoint transition - wheee!
