I'm not sure how many people are watching the "sting" operation MSNBS is putting on, but I find it VERY disturbing.

For those that aren't watching, MSNBC had a group posts child profiles online (IM) to see how many adults they can lure into a house in the DC area under the context of them being alone with a 11-14 year old child. They got about 19 over a three day period.

There was a teacher, another a Rabbi, another a bus driver...

One guy was caught at the house, and the NEXT DAY they got him AGAIN trying to pick up a child at McDonalds!!!

Who are these people?

I saw that, it was extremely disturbing. If it was so easy to pull off this sting, I have half a mind to set one up myself but not be quite as nice as MSNBC was to them.

http://www.perverted-justice.com was the group that helped NBC. Apparently Virginia will let you record any conversation where one person gives their consent. That is how they were able to broadcast the freaks.

What amazes me (and i guess it shouldn't) is that they "seemed" so normal. Oh well...

"Normal" is what you have to watch out for- really. Most pedophiles are someone you know and trust. Honestly, parents should watch their children on the internet and unfortunately be suspicious of those close to the family.

Funny fact I heard from a Prof once, least I think it is a fact.

Most churches won't hire unmarried men to work with Youth or any other position, they would sooner hire married men and women. Because they're worried about what a young man might do. Turns out the vast majority of pedos are married men. Makes sense though, if you're got something like that, that you plan on going through on you're going to make sure you look as normal as possible.

As I understand it, most states are that way. California is one of the few with really restrictive laws about recording conversations.
