The Detroit Red Wings getting their azzes handed to them, 4 -1, with 7:50 to go, by the Vancouver Canucks. One of their worst games in an otherwise superb season for them.

Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

When I read the title I thought you were Dr. Frasier Crane. "Hello Seattle. I'm listening."
I'm listening to the archives of Dallas radio station KLIF and their recording of their broadcast the afternoon of 11/22/63 as the first news flash came in, breaking into their regular music show that there was a report of shots heard along the presidential motorcade route. The station then went back to several minutes of DJ patter, local commercials and Top 40 songs. After a while the station manager and the news director realized that the report was more than just a rumor. Then they realized it was more than just a few gunshots, someone was hit. Then they realized the Governor and the President were both hit and then that the wounds may be life threatening and that gradual process of awakening to the gravity of the situation started what was to be several days of non-stop coverage of the JFK presidential assassination.
The recording stops as the news became official.
It's spellbinding stuff. Not JUST the coverage of the shooting but the commercials and the music and the sound of the station and the slight reverb they used in their commonplace (if not stereotypical) 1960's AM radio sound. And the way they speak of Texas and of Dallas and the way the local radio stations had MOBILE NEWS VEHICLES (cars, vans, trucks??) roaming the city collecting news! I drink it all in and it is riveting and eerily so.
I find myself still hoping that somehow just by wishing and hoping I can change the outcome.
But it's always the same.

Give petty people just a little bit of power and watch how they misuse it! You can't silence the self doubt, can you?

Alex Reece - Candles.
This song got me into what we used to call drum & bliss back in the day. A little softer than your typical drum & bass tittle, but you could still bust a move to it.

Nothing, I have ear plugs in so the noise of an air make-up unit above me that has a loose air foil rattling doesn't bug me.
