MacNN is great, but they are somewhat limited in scope only talking about Mac stuff. What people really need and want that they can't find anywhere else is a news source that will report on the rest of the world, including Mac stuff.

This is why I'm proud the announce the MacNN News Alternate. Our mission is to complete with MacNN and outdo them by providing better news. We say what you want to hear. News. When you want it.

The good news for you is that to tune into the MacNN News Alternate, all you have to do is visit this thread everyday. Please contain your excitement by not responding, this thread is reserved for hard hitting news. This service will be available free of charge, and I will call on some co-anchors to help cover different areas.

Today's top stories:

- No UFO sightings today
- Bears are starting to hibernate
- Some stocks are up, others are down
- Local woman missing favorite kitten beloved by the community

Now for weather, we have Cubeoid reporting... Cubeoid?

Today in the city rainbows can be seen from all windows. The temperature is ideal for picnics and walking your marmut. We will have more rainbows every day for the next week. Sometimes bears can be seen eating food from your window. Do not feed the bears. Local man has been reported to be taken in by rainbow. Rainbows are not harmless. Before you chase a rainbow consult a professional.

The only one who can possibly open a thread like that and maintain it is Cody. Sorry besson3c, but you're not going to stand a snowflake's chance in hell.

Thank you besson3c. Today in sport, local man Larry Stevenowski walked all the way from his house to Burger King. It was snowing but Larry did not care, as he is not scared of the cold. The local sports team the "Sportsters" defeated their crosstown rivals the "Challengers" 24-15. That's all in sport for today.

That's why he's gonna kill us. So we got to beat it. Yeah. Before he let's loose the marmosets on us."

Welcome back everyone, and thank you besson3c.

Today,
- The population of India increased. Yesterday it was 1,085,501,238; today it is 1,085,547,629.
- An incident was reported involving a pickle and a wallaby. Trust me, you really don't want to know more about this one.
- Some people contracted the common cold. Most of them will recover fully in approximately one week; some will not.

Also,
- Google continued to index Web sites.
- There was a database error at the MacNN forum.
- Most parts of the world experienced weather.

Now back to you, besson3c.

People, start threads when you have something to say. This doesn't count.
