I have the ones on the right in blue with white stripes (original color). They are pretty cool in terms of street-wear.
Sambas are okay (but I'd get them in black with white stripes).
What are you gonna use them for? Sports or just casual wear?

The yellow ones are handball shoes, not soccer:
The original Spezial was first released in 1979, and was designed as a performance handball shoe worn by the world’s finest players.
The green ones on the left are football shoes, not soccer.

I would stay away from "inexpensive" boots that look like Magnums, though. They're usually cheap as well.
I believe that if the whole darn world just had shoes that fit properly, most of the violence and hostility would simply go away. It's easy to be testy when your feet hurt, and when the hurt all the time, you just get worse and worse.
And a 21 year old should buy sensible shoes-not flat sneakers that cost $75, will wear out in a few months, provide no arch support whatsoever, and have a style life that's shorter than their wear life. If you want canvas and rubber, get some Converse All Stars (which are, sadly, no longer made in Converse, Texas... At least they'll stay pretty much in style until you wear them out.

So instead htey should spend a lot of money on boots with no ventilation so your feet get ultra sweaty and stinky?

My current pair have seen daily action since 1999 and still look nearly new - no sign of them dying yet.

Actually, they don't. The Magnums have a Thinsulate lining in them.
And they're comfortable enough to wear without socks.

Thinsulate might breath, but leather doesn't. Try wrapping your feet in whatever material you wish, then putting a plastic bag over that. It won't breath because it's solid leather.

I spent a good minute looking at the two shoes trying to figure out the difference before I remembered that I was color blind and that I probably couldn't tell the color difference.
BTW, crazy camel toe there.

Magnums have something like 75% nylon uppers, which provide lots of ventilation, and with the Thinsulate lining, your feet don't get too cold. They feel like good athletic shoes, they provide arch support and (for most people) ankle support, and they're light.
I did spend several years wearing all-leather boots, and they did indeed keep my feet hot and sweaty. Boots with nylon uppers have certainly made a huge difference.

Sambas are the best shoes made. I wear mine all the time, even when I'm not playing indoor (which, now that I've had knee surgery, I don't play much). Some people don't have much of an arch, and so that makes the shoes more comfortable. They are very flat shoes, which make them more comfortable for me (I'd really rather just be barefoot, but you can't go many places without shoes).
Of course, I don't buy all the strange colors - just the black & white Sambas (it's getting harder and harder to find the originals).

I'll respect your opinion of them, and I hope they do last for you. But flat shoes with no arch support will help you LOSE your arch, and that's just asking for foot trouble in the not too distant future.
After an uncountable number of sprained ankles (both of them of course, and the doc said of the last one that I should have just broken it because it would have been easier to treat and easire on me too) I have to have ankle and arch support. And going through the kind of treatments I have, I've learned that feet need to be babied or they'll get you-and very unpleasantly, too.

I concur with what Glenn said. Look after your feet. Back in high school I wore trainers all the time. Ended up having to get treatment (electric shock therapy) for flat feet 'coz they weren't providing any arch support.

I don't have an arch. Never have, to my knowledge. My kids don't appear to have them either. My footprint is very full, unlike most people where the arch leaves no imprint. If I wear a pair of shoes that has "arch support", it hurts like hell and I end up bruised by the end of the day.

What exactly is wrong with having flat feet?

For some of us, comfort means not having arch support. Are you saying that I should wear shoes that will force an arch into my feet?

I'm saying that having arch support to PREVENT arches from falling is superior to letting them fall because your arches are the shock absorbers for your feet and legs. Fallen arches means that all the shock goes to your ankles, knees and hips, and that can cause damage over time.
As long as flat shoes don't hurt and don't cause your arches to fall there's nothing wrong with them.

Well, if what you're is saying is true, it would explain why I have terrible knees and ankles. I'm 29, and I've had arthritis in both for years. I've had knee surgery once already, and I doubt that I'll make it to 50 with either knee.
