You might want to try the PangeaVR plugin for QuickTime to give you an even smoother experience: http://www.pangeasoft.net/pano/plugin/pangeavr.html

I haven't actually tested the speed gain with and without in QT7, so downloader beware

I like catching the HD Mars 3D shots and panarams on Discover HD Theater, so I won't spoil those by clicking on the Mars QTVR But the other shots where really nice.
