Mom wanted to spare the 16-y-o son from the pain of trial. IMO, the boy would have botched the whole prosecution, as he would be transparent on how good a time he had with Mrs. Lafave.

Any male in her position would not have gotten the same treatment.

The woman is a sex offender but there is a big difference between raping someone with your penis and raping someone with your vagina. The harshest penalties go towards the forced sex, which obviously is not the case here. It was consensual.
What's good justice for the boy's mother, is good justice for everyone. That was the essence of the plea deal.
Now that the judge has called for trial, the boy will definitely botch it and yell to the jury: "I liked it and I would do it again!", accepting his part of the responsibility. Probably Lafave will come out with less penalty.

Cody Dawg: when you say "One father was talking about it...", are you talking about the father of the "victim" in this Lafave case?

Define consensual. Most adults can emotionally manipulate teenagers. It's not difficult. It's even easier if you are attractive and the teenager is a virgin male. The kid could probably barely contain himself, but I'll bet he regrets it later in life. I know there are some of you that think you are cool because you first had sex at 12, but you're the minority and most of you are lying about being 12 just to seem cool.

The kid is going through a stage, as all kids do, and at the moment he has good reason to be going through one. Not so sure about that. I can understand what the are inferring. But I think both can be a big deal. Being inside of someone, is equal to me as someone inside of you I would guess.

We are talking about minors being molested by people who are responsible for their care. Adults molesting children.

I'm not agreeing with the statement. Godfather made it, and Kevin was confused by it. I was simply stating where the point of view comes from. I think this chick ought to go to fail for as long as a man would have for the same thing.

Just because one of the counties went below the guidelines doesn't mean the other will - and decided not to depart. That is why the judge wants a trial. He obviously feels that what she did is more deserving of a severe sentence also. JAIL TIME.

Just because a naughty teacher is most guys' fantasy girl doesn't mean that what she did is right.

Still, a CBS Wednesday Movie of the Week about her, with the Van Halen track, "I'm Hot For Teacher," might be good.
