Thrash? I think those are referred to as "Metal"
But yeah, Master of Puppets.

I should have included Pantera's Vulgar Display of Power, shouldn't I?
Oh well, maybe they deserve not to be included for starting out as a hair band.

Um, you can be metal without being thrash, Kevin. I gotta say, Metallica is the only one of those bands that I really liked. Before the black album, they were effin' brilliant.

tough call between Anthrax and Metallica. MoP is totally classic, but WCFYA is an awesome comback album. completely rocks. For your specific poll (desctruction), it has to be Anthrax!
I'd say that there are at least thrashy. Thrash does not mean speed.

Slayer by far. All great bands though. Megadeth being my favorite among those four.

I'll seperate from the pack a bit and recommend Dragonforce, especially their album Sonic Firestorm.
Great thrash and killer riffs.

Yeah, Dragonforce is pretty epic, but not what I'd consider thrash.

Not entirely sure if they qualify as thrash (melo-death is more my thing) but my cousin, Paul Arakaki was in this band:
and they were pretty good imo, but hell, I'm biased. It is unfortunate they couldn't stick together.
