At first I thought this/ was sad but then after reading it, they were morons.
Bascially deep frying a turkey inside a garage, that should have been outside and monitored. If they saw that the oil was boiling they may have been able to do something.

At least it was an un-furnished house. Insurance will pick up the bill.
With the hot construction market, those builders won't be fired or will be re-hired quickly. It is almost job-seeker's market.

I work for an insurance company and they look at every way not to pay out a claim. My guess is they (the builders) will have their hands full trying to collect the money. The reason? because they were using the deep fryer inside and I believe those are meant to be used outside.
I'm not saying its fair but I am saying if their insurance company is as cheap as mine...

As soon as I saw the thread title, I knew it was because someone head tried to deep fry their turkey! I think that is the leading reason for houses burning down on Thanksgiving.

Papa was taking the turkey out of the oven today and sploosh- the oil hit the burners- and flash came the flames. Singed his mustache, but all is well. Coulda been worse.

My brother in law deep fries turkeys every year inside his garage and does not have a problem. Of course nobody sees him in the house while he's doing this, because he takes it seriously. He monitors the thing closely, has a HUGE fire extinguisher handy, and knows what he's doing.
Has anyone else seen the Allstate commercial about frying turkeys? It's really a good one.
