i am in japan & have a japanese xbox. i want to buy PIU exceed, but do i need a japanese version of the game? is there a japanese version? if there is only a north american version, do i need a mod chip for my japanese system?

can i use xbox live & the step editor in japan? i have an american bank account / credit card, so i can use that to sign up. thanks for any help.

You have to buy the Japanese version. XBox games are region encoded.

You can get your xbox modded, which would probably be the best option if you want to play any other region`s games.

so, to solve the region problem i can mod it. how about the xbox live features listed here? will they work if i buy the japanese version or mod the console?

Not all Xbox games are region coded. Some will play on any console worldwide. Search the Web to see if the games you want to play will work on your console.

But a Japanese Xbox? Isn't that pointless?

Unless you're into those kinds of games...

If you mod your Xbox, won't it screw up your ability to use Xbox Live? Might not be an issue for you if you don't use it.

the 'better' mod's come with a switch, to activate the mod. If you want to use Xbox live you deactivate the mod chip before starting up the console.
