I (of course) have one of those flash new iMacs with Front Row installed.

Can anyone tell me where the large rotating spokes animation is located, I can't seem to find it in the app package. Is is sitting somewhere else in the OS?

I assume you mean the 'indeterminate spinner':

It's a standard cocoa control - however, in FR I would imagine that they did it via QuartzComposer.

Yes indeterminate spinner!

I found some small ones in the library/framworks/addressBook.framework, but I really want to get the jumbo ones like in Front Row, any ideas?

Yes, if it's the one with the remote control and built-in iSight.

kewl. it's sitting at work right now , being loaded up so i can work from Georgia, But that will be nice to play with...

OFF TOPIC- it's kinda cool... I have been at my job for 9 yrs. and I am leaving. Many co-workers have spied the new computer and check it out. The fun part is- everyone (small company less than 20 employees) is stopping in the Photo Booth and leaving a pic. It'll be a nice memory album...

Off topic but,

The remote also works outside of the front page view. I controls itunes. And the main system volume. although i do wonder why the remote is inferred and not bluetooth.

Slightly more off topic,

I am never one to recommend illegal activities here, but there is a version of Front Row that runs on non-imac g5 copmuters. I have it running on my g4, with only a few bugs left to work out.
