Anyway, im 17 years old, and i heard of a poker tournament in a local casino (new casino, just oppened, and guaranteed 4,000 cash prize first place, 3,000 second place, 2,000 third place, and 1,000 fourth place), 110 dollars entry.

Anyway, im 6'2, quite tall for the country im living in (Panama), so i grew my beard (i heard of the tournament 1 week before it started), and i head off to the casino.

Seems i had no problem getting in, and was not asked for "cedula" meaning "ID". Anyway, got in, signed up, and would you know it, i got all the way to third place with a few well played hands, a bit of luck, etc.

Anway, now i have 2,000 dollars cash lying around, no idea what to use it for any ideas guys?

WOOOT, 2,000 bucks rock!

Big TV, xBox 360, nice surround sound.

If I had 2 Gs myself I'd put it in the bank, but as stated before, that's no fun.

I have an idea. Bribe your way to become the president of Panama. You should still have some money left over... maybe purchase Mexico after that?

They still call them "cedulas?" Interesting. I thought that was one thing that would have changed with the new government.... The last time I heard "cedula" was in December, 1989, a few days before I left Panama.

By the way, I never trusted the casinos there then, and I'd still be a little leery of them today.

I wholeheartedly agree. You can certainly spend some of it, but it's best to save/invest and try to habituate a savings attitude toward money.

You mean like this one:

I actually have that one, it's one of the few in my collection worth anything. But nobody wants it anymore, since Johnny Damon's so much better.

Still, I'd sell it to our friend from Panama for $2000. It would impress the ladies, I'm sure.

Ya, still calling them "cedulas", and it's a new casino, cool owner. Called the "Vaneto" casino if im not mistaking. Oppened up a few weeks ago, hosted the tournement in hopes of luring the big time poker players. I just played since the inscription was not too expensive (110 bucks). Another tournament today actualy, (10 grand to enter), im not that crazy

Anyway, i think i might spend like 500 bucks on clothes, and the rest on "levantando las mujers", let me see how to translate, um, "getting the chicks".

Anyway, i got a bit lucky, it was texas holdem no limit. Had a few good hands, got a bit lucky, and made it third place for 2 grand. all i can say is "WOOOT", cause it's my first time entering a big tournament.

Would you believe he brings that with to his performances, and that I got to drive it? It was hilarious and awesome.

Didn't even go backstage. He came out to sign CDs, and at prompting by the audience he brought it out. He came out, forget he said he'd get it, then brought it out front. We drove it around in the front entryway of the civic center where he was performing.

Still a funny, grouchy guy.

hes still one of my favorite comics, Carlin probably tops my list though. Speaking of which, I went to a Carlin book signing last year, and one attendee told him he was god, carlin had his way with that comment and annihilated the guy.
