Hanukkah is an eight-night celebration. In 2004, the holiday begins on the 8th of December on the Western (Gregorian) calendar, which is the 25th of Kislev on the Hebrew calendar.!
It says last year it started on December 8th. This year it starts on the 25th right along with Christmas.

Well, 25th Kislev starts at sunset (like every day in the Jewish calendar), so really Christmas does start earlier by some hours, this year. Also, while it's a happy enough holiday, Purim is when you really party.

Purim, and Pesach. Come on, relaxing with a big meal and mandatory drinking, celebrating freedom? Life could be worse.
If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.

Happy Hanukkah, Israel. Here's hope that state terrorism will someday end (And that terrorism not sponsored by any state will too!)

Purim, and Pesach.
IMO Pesach loses some points due to an overabundance of cardboard, I mean, matzo.

Thanks for turning this into a political thread moron. It has nothing to do with Israel. It's about the Jewish faith.

PS: It's horrible what Hamas is doing to Israel.

Yes, it's terrible what the Hamas is doing. Yes, it's terrible what the Israeli Army is doing.

Your point being?

P.S.: **** YOU.

I didn't turn this into a political thread. I was only wishing that the violence would cease in the Middle-east.

My point is that you brought politics into this.

This is not about politics.

This is about a guy wishing Jews a good Hanukkah.

Not about Israel and the ME.

You sir, are a moron.

I thought that this year the "IN" thing was to just wish people a Happy Holidays since we don't want to Offend anyone.

Happy Chanukah to the Jewish members of the forums.

Given his track record (and political posturing), I think you're expecting too much from the kid. He'll likely grow up some day.

Happy holidays to all,
