Anyone attending any of the Rounds?

Round 1:
Pool A Location - Japan
Pool B Location - Phoenix
Pool C Location - Puerto Rico
Pool D Location - Orlando

I just booked my Round 1/Pool D hotel room and got my seats (Section 219, Row J). Taking a few weeks off and hitting a number of Tigers spring training games before and after the Round 1/Pool D games. Decided to stay at a hotel in the area instead of at one of the ones at Disney to save some money; the games are played at Disneys Wide World of Sports Complex/Braves spring training facility and I will just drive (I'm driving down to Florida, not flying) each day. I'm going to pick up a few Tigers games in Lakeland and then ending with one in Ft. Myers against the Twinswith my parents (their winter home).

Wow, very cool...sounds fun! However, I'll probably be going around to various Independent Leagues looking for Rickey.

Yup, I can't wait! Since my yearly New Orleans plans didn't work out (I spend xmas to new years down there), I decided to do spring training. Last time I saw a spring training game was probably in the early 80s visiting my grandma when she stayed down there in Sarasota and caught a few Pirates games.

It will be a busy 9 days or so, with most days being 2 baseball games! (1 Tiger game/1 World game or 2 World games).

Yeah, I'm looking forward to that. There is such a concentration of games in and 1 1/2 hour drive that week, I will go into overload With Sunday vs Pirates in Lakeland then at Disney against the Braves on Monday; followed by a bunch of the World games and Tiger games in Lakeland. Will get to see 3 spring training facilities (lakeland, disney, ft myers) in just a few short days.

Looks like Cuba won't be allowed to participate now.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Cuba won't be allowed to send a team to next year's inaugural World Baseball Classic, the U.S. government told event organizers Wednesday.

The decision by the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control was conveyed to Major League Baseball on Wednesday, according to Pat Courtney, a spokesman for the Commissioner's office.
