I hope Randal wins.
The chick on the crutches totally doesn't impress me. I just want to kick those crutches out from under her - while she's going down the stairs at her "event." She's so fake.

NO. She just put Yahoo out to dry!
She raised NO MONEY for them...now she's saying that it's Yahoo!'s fault that they didn't raise money at their charity event?

It's Yahoo's fault. If she went against their VERY specific request, and either a) they pulled out or b) donations still didnt go well, then it would be all her fault. Not a risk worth taking.

Nick...I think you might be right about BOTH...watching it right now...
Randal nixed hiring Rebecca?
WOW!
We could have had BOTH.
Nick, you were still right ON TARGET!

When it got down to the last 3-4, i felt really confident that he wanted to hire both of them, so long as they didn't lose their tasks.
I predict in the next few days we'll read in the news that he hired her anyway off air.

I don't think trump should have asked randall first. He should have asked his two execs first, then randall. When you are doing something like that live you can't leave room for ambiguity.
Regardless, Trump will hire her outside of the show. But it made for a very disappointing ending.

What a DICK. I said to my wife "watch, he's going to hire both", and when he asked Randall if he should hire Rebecca also, he said no. I thought Randall RESPECTED Rebecca. If he did, he should have let her have the job. No, he shows that he wants to be a complete dick and take it all for himself.

Randall was confused imo. And he may have thought it was some type of trick question or test. Surely Trump could have come up with a better way to pull it off. The "you're both hired" would have been sufficient.

Randall screwed up. Royally. Now everyone in America think's he's a dick. Each of them wanted a different project, it wouldn't have had any material bearing on his winning, except a bit of dick-waving.
But the funny thing is, it was really Trump's fault; it was CLEAR from the get-go that he intended to hire both. He should have just said "You're BOTH hired", then no one would feel cheated.

It's too bad really. That really hurt what would have been a great season. She may get hired still, but in terms of the feel-good ending: it's lost for good. Some risks just should not be taken in situations like this -- ruining the climax of your tv show would be one such situation where a more reliable strategy should have been followed.

Anyone notice that the only previous Apprentice they ever trot out is Bill? The dude from the 2nd season showed up once I think, but the woman from S3 fell off the face of the earth. I hated her anyway.
I predict Randall will now be shuttled to obscurity (if well paying/high powered), and thanks to his douche-move, Rebecca has instantly become America's Sweetheart.

Yes, because if the situation would have been reversed, Rebecca WOULD have hired Randal.
The only thing I can figure is that Randal made eye contact with Melania in the audience - who made a knife-cutting gesture across her throat - and Randal nixed Rebecca to save the Trump marriage.
Seriously, as they say in Little Italy, "I got no respect" for Randal now.

In partial fairness, Trump really put Randall in a bad position; he gives him the win, big celebration ensues, and Trump instantly pokes the bubble, making Randall sit down to suddenly assess a new scenario.
Still, seeing Rebecca sit there holding her composure while being alternately let down, given hope and then kicked in the face makes everyone else look like total losers.

It's funny, Bill is the only Apprentice with any presence. The S2 dude was trotted out once I think, and the woman from S3 completely disappeared (I hated her anyway). See, I don't even remember their names.
I predict Randall will also fade into obscurity, and Rebecca will parlay her moment as America's Sweetheart into a book or some crap (Maxim would be nice).

There's gonna be a lot of controversy on this one! Maybe Randal was hogging the limelight, but dammit, everybody knew he was going to win. The man deserved his own spotlight I think, although it did seem a bit harsh.
I have an alternate theory as to why he didn't say "yes" to Rebecca being hired - he may have respected her, but maybe he really didn't think she was best for the job Trump offered. I certainly didn't - I was looking at that dual office tower and thinking "no way she would be able to handle that without a LOT of help". So it's possible he wasn't being mean.

Another thought - I've been in a couple of situations in business where I've worked extremely hard to get something, then because of a manager or some other unusual situation, I ended up having to "share" equal credit with somebody who really didn't work as hard and really didn't deserve that equal credit. It didn't feel good, to be honest. Perhaps that feeling is what drove Randal to say no to hiring Rebecca.

Maybe not, but just because you have a billion degrees doesn't mean you can fit into any job. Randall did IT CONSULTING. What does that have to do with building high-rises in Jersey City?

Yeah, was she later fired or something? Not a single word on her or Kelly Purdue on this season's show as far I can remember.

I thought from the beginning of the show Trump would hire both. He kept saying over and over, "I've got two stars here." He SHOULD have just said "You're BOTH hired" if he had any inclination to hire them both. Leaving it up to Randal and putting him on the spot was lousy. And Randal (although I thought all along he was a "nice" guy) made a REAL dick move. I lost all repsect for him and he has only himself to blame for America hating him. He had a chance to really show respect for Rebecca and could have made the ending of the show a real "heart-warmer." Instead, his ego wouldn't allow him to share the spotlight. Randal is the real loser here.

Rebecca was just on the Today show. She was smart and gracious about the loss, saying she was happy with the outcome (which she should be, it's PR gold). But when asked said she would have hired Randall, she said absolutely; it would be foolish not to hire someone so good-- nice little dig there.
Then one of those stupid Yahoo women walked on, and offered her the opportunity to work on "projects" with Yahoo, to which she said she would love to talk about. They really have damage spin going.

No, he's not.
Randall was consistent throughout.
He said that in his opinion, Rebecca lacked experience to pull of a job like the ones offered by Trump. If he really believed that, why would he suddenly recommend to Trump to hire her also ? If he did that, he would have either lied before, or made a dumb business decision for the sake of feeling good or positive PR. But that's not Randall. He stuck to his guns, and this is good.
Trump may still hire Rebecca, but he honestly could not have expected Randall to suddenly turn 180 degrees and be FOR Rebecca.
Honestly, IMHO, Randall and Rebecca are NOT the same league.

True, but Trump WANTED to hire them both. It's his company and his decision and from everything he said throughout the Finale you could tell he was leaning towards hiring both of them. Trump should have never left it to Randall, and once he did, Randall was put in a VERY awkward position. IMO, Donald blew it by not just saying:
a) "You're both hired" or
b) "Randall, you're hired. You are the Apprentice. But, before you celebrate, I was also so impressed with Rebecca I would like to offer her the other job since you didn't want it"

Awesome - and correct - post.
You're right about that, I think.
I think that Trump should have just hired her and not copped out and put it on Randal. If Rebecca was hired and she flopped on the job then Randal would have had that hanging around his neck, also.
Trump should have hired her himself, period, if he wanted her on board.
I don't think so little of Randal now that I see it from a different perspective.

Let's be honest, it's not like these Apprentices are actually put in charge of these projects; at most they are more like glorified executive assistants ( just like there's no way in hell they actaully run those tasks. Major corporate sponsors aren't going to put their images and events in the hands of amateurs).

No, that's not true.
They are not just executive assistants. And look at Randall, he really IS able to pull of a job like that.

You can't go from IT Consulting to being the head of a major construction project no matter how many degrees you have. He will be assisting someone else - he can't do it himself. WTF does he know about construction? lol

Well, that's the question, isn't it; why do any of these allegedly high-powered millionaire business people want to give all that up to work for Donald Trump and take a salary cut?
I would understand it if the pool of contestants were recent college grads with slim real world experience (in fact that would make more sense), but these are often people, like Randall, who already have a thriving career and a family. The lure of being on TV?
Edit: Good article on this event: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10485160/
"What Randal has in education, he lacks in foresight; what Rebecca has in competency and loyalty, she lacks in experience. They complimented each other well — and both fit in well with Trump."
