I want a cure for rheumatic diseases, because I am genetically more prone to it. Or if no cure, I want bionic fingers when these become bad.

What do you want?

I hope dentistry is advanced enough so that people won't dread going to the dentist.

Synthetic or bionic replacement joints. I want to still be able to hike and backpack when I get older but I know and some point my knees are just going to give out.

You're a bit behind. People have knee and hip replacements all the time.

My mother could barely walk because of a bad hip. They replaced it and she walked the next day.

Yes, I know. But I want something with a high degree of reliability, integrability, and that is also minimally invasive. While a lot of the new synthetic joints are made of titanium there is still a high degree of rejection of transplanted parts. Plus, as of yet, there is no feasible way to get bone to grow on/around replacement joints. Having the body treat synthetic replacements like natural body parts is important for the life-tme replacement of joints.

You know, if I had that kind of super body I don't think I would care all that much what sound it made. Well, not a whole lot.

Improved treatment for advanced-stage cancers. I’ve seen firsthand how much of a difference time makes – my dad’s prostate cancer was detected early, so he had one quick surgery and was done with it, but my brother-in-law lost his life to advanced esophageal cancer, at the young age of 40.

I hope medical advances make it possible for complete morons to be able to read and comprehend a thread's title before responding.

In spite of it being off topic, I agree with Cipher13.

I'd like to see viruses, as an entire class of pathogens, rendered harmless. I'd like to see technology that heals cartilage and tendons as quickly, efficiently and thoroughly as muscles.

And I'd like to see a blanket cure for cancer. If all cancers were banished, I think the world would be a much better place for everyone.

There is lots of things that I would like too see getting perfected but there is one thing I really want. That they stop trying and keep people longer and longer alive. We are not made to live a 100 years. Don't get me wrong, if you get to a hundred without any need of medical assistance then that's great. But, the urge for people to live forever with the aid of medicine is ridiculous (and bad for social security as well).
