20th century phenomena which I think should carry on through the next century:

-James Bond
-Rock 'n' Roll (is arguably dead already)
-The BBC
-Retirement
-The trusty telephone
-Cinemas

It seems to me like a lot of things which were so familiar to us just 20 years ago are on their way out. In fact, I don't think that any of the above mentioned items will exist in their recongisable form much longer, except for the BBC.

Heavy drinking. I would hate for that to go away.

I didn't say that those things would go away, Cubeoid. I said that I would like to see them survive the next few decades of the 21st century, and that they probably have some considerable longevity. Nevertheless, nothing lasts forever and they will cease to exist sometime.

I was hoping this would make it well into the 21st century and beyond...

I liked the black chick on the bike better.
