Liberating experience that was. Cheesedick named wefixmacs sold me a PM G3 case over a MONTH ago and I haven't received it yet. Dork doesn't read his email either.
Repeated emails asked "Has it shipped yet?" A week after the auction he tells me, "yea, need another $10 for shipping" which I sent, two weeks hence, no product has arrived.

I only hesitated to do it because I'm sure I'll receive retaliatory neg. feedback in return, and I have a spotless feedback record thus far

edit: having grammar problems today

Once I gave a neutral feedback because the product was more banged up than the ad said it was... that guy screemed at me (via email) multiple times. Threatend to give me negative feedback, etc. What a joke. I hate eBay.

According to the babelfish, you said "The old cheese tail"

erm, I think perhaps it loses something in the translation, eh?

Yep. "Schwanz" is colloquial for dick.

I sold a DVD drive and never received payment. I emailed the guy about once every other day and also resent the invoice. Finally after 2 weeks I opened the never received payment thing on eBay. He never responded to the eBay form letters either. I gave him negative feedback. About a month later I get on eBay and find out this guy gave me negative feedback in return saying he made a mistake on choosing my product and let me know by email.

You can leave a reply is you get negative feedback in return but eBay doesn't give you a lot of space to do that in.

Did you warn him that he was going to get one soon?

OR, file a complaint on PayPal and they will most likely side with you and refund you. Do it now as it might scare the user when he sees a complaint has been filed.

Worked for me every time.

Do not leave negative feedback until all hope is lost. He will retaliate.

oopsie, too late. I can retaliate harder. No one can compete with my sharp but witty words of angry criticism.

The best solution to bad e-bay bidders? Small-claims court. Threaten to take them, send them a copy of the complaint even - it works every time.

I think there is market for an enterprise that will chase down these lozars and reclaim stuff and make money for the services.

Don't credit card companies already use private collection agencies for collecting debts?

Yeah, but they are more powerful than you as a consumer.

I know, wouldn't it be nice if I could screw somebody's credit rating for not paying or delivering on eBay...

if you don't leave negative feedback out of fear, you aren't doing the community any favors. Good for you jcadam. If he leaves you negative in return, reply that he's a bad communicator with honesty issues.

There is a place called rentacoder.com that lets you leave feedback for others based on the work they do for you, and in return they leave feedback as well on you as a buyer... but the great thing about them is that they do not let either of you see the other person's rating until both ratings have been entered. After xx amount of days you lose the right to rate the other person, and the given feedback/ratings go live to the world. I think it is a super way of doing it... there is no retalitory ratings.

I always wait 89 days and 23 hours to leave a negative because then they can't leave a negative for me - and I block their bids on anything I might be selling so they can never bid on anything of mine again.
