My new 20" iMac G5 show be arriving tomorrow. When I not working or using it, I like to sit down in an easy chair and read an old fashion paper magazine. With Windows PC's, I started off reading PC Novice. I can't find a Mac version.
MacWorld, MacAddict, & MacHome all seem a little advanced for me now but MacHome writes "... macHOME provides smart, practical advice for anyone who uses their Mac for personal needs ... you’ll find that everything in macHOME is written in an approachable, friendly manner. With its clean design and English-language approach to technology, macHOME is truly the magazine for every Mac consumer."
What would you recommend for a Mac newby- MacWorld, MacAddict, MacHome or something else in paper?

MacAddict or MacHome would be a good choice.

i prefer macaddict to macworld; but i do have a subscription to both. i would say pick up a copy of each before deciding which one to buy. each has their own style that is unique in how content is presented.

some people are like slinkys: they don't do much, but are fun to push down stairs.

Hands down the best Mac magazine is the UK version of Macworld. The US version sucks donkey b@lls. The US version is like a little thin pamphlet that you would find inside the New York Times or something.
And as far as books, just go to Barnes and Noble and grab any copy of Mac OS X books they have. They're all the same.

UK magazines are great - their US counterparts just never compare. Usually, the UK mags are bigger, have some-what humorous writing and add-ons like CDs/DVDs. Due to the ship times, they lose a little relevance as when they're "new" here, they're already a month old in the UK. UK Macworld is probably the best general purpose Mac mag out there. MacAddict is OK - some interesting stuff but a little too cheezy for me.
That being said, if you start getting creative with your Mac, iCreate is an awesome mag.

iCreate is good, but look out for Mac Creative magazine. Great design, great content.
