Does anyone else think they review too many plays in college football? The refing in this game was pretty bad though, so i guess it needed it.

so much for USC being one of the best teams ever.

Good job Horns!

(And no I don't think they play reviews are excessive, they are just misguided sometimes.)

Agreed, although he was a one man team during this game.

shows that you can't win a game without defense, no matter how good your offense is.

After the first half, I didn't see much defense.

I have nothing against Vince, I just like to see my friends in Texas really sad and depressed. I am the classiest person alive.

Did you notice during the interview after the game with Matt, the woman interviewing him said. "Thanks Vince", as he was walking away. Totally on accident I'm sure, but it was funny none the less.

The stuff he said did come off pouty.

Vince single handedly dominated USC. This is more reason wny the heisman winner should be decided after the bowl games. Moreover, USC would not have had an undefeated streak if they played in a real conference. HAHAHAHA USC I laugh at you.

i suppose you missed that 4th and 2 stand as well. Yeah, it was one play, but it's impact was tremendous. USC defense is my current favorite oxymoron, replacing microsoft works.

The last quarter was amazing. Great game. I'm not a fanatic (I don't "bleed orange" or have Longhorn stickers tainting the windows of my car), although I should be considering that I attend UT & live in Austin - but I do like to see 'em win.

Yeah, right. USC does not run off 34 straight wins in the SEC. Just doesn't happen.

The Heisman voters were flat out wrong. Vince Young is a more [oustanding|valuable] player than Bush. The guy is just ridiculously good. Young ran for as many yards as Bush & White combined while throwing for 267.

I really enjoyed the play in the first quarter where the USC defensive back (36/38/something) blitzed and Young just stood there. The guy wrapped him up and Young was still just standing there looking for somewhere to throw it.

I am a huge Big 12 fan...but hate Texas...but am happy they pulled out the victory yesterday for the conference. What an awesome game, and Vince is just an amazing player. I've seen him perform like that against the Big 12 for a few years now, so what transpired yesterday did not surprise me in the least.

Congrats Texas! Go Big 12!

This is one of the few times I'm glad I don't live in Austin anymore. It's going to be extremely hard to avoid burnt orange EVERYTHING for a long time... It looks like it was a great game, but I still miss when Michigan seemed to play in EVERY Rosebowl. That was a long time ago, I know, but I am still a traditionalist.

Great game! What a performance by Vince Young! I was more than happy to see USC lose. I also agree that if they're in a few other conferences, they don't go 34-0. I do congratulate them on their accomplishment though as it is impressive. I'm just happy for Texas especially after Leinart stating he felt USC was still the better team. Scoreboard Matt, scoreboard.

Image of the day:

Vince outplayed both Heisman winners on USC. And White was a monster too.

I like the way he Vince didn't get excited about scoring the TD that put them only 5 points down. Just went back to work.

I would take Vince Young over Michael Vick (and his brother) immediately...no questions asked.

I'm not saying it was a nice thing to say, but haven't you ever felt that way after losing a game?

That because Vick sucks. Anyone who think Vick is a good quarterback doesn't know anything about football. I would rather have drew Dledsoe.

That was indeed an amazing game. It really lived up to all the hype. Young was outstanding. But you have to give some of the credit to his front line. They gave him a lot of protection and time in the pocket. And when they weren't able to give him time or someone got through, Young would just juke them out of their jocks and either run or throw. He was definitely the man.

And I really like the way Young didn't do the whole showboat/dance in the end zone like a circus clown thing (like davesimondotcom said). Every time he scored he just calmly walked back to the sideline to go right back to work. That's class right there. He knows he's dominant, he doesn't have to dance around trying to convince people he's good.

I'm always hesitant to predict how college players will do in the pros. Its just a different world. But I think Young has a great chance at being a real force in the NFL. Being as tall and lanky as he is, he kind of reminds me of Randall Cunningham who could also run and pass very well.

Drew Bledsoe is awesome.

Yes, good point, but this is a national stage and a chance to show the class everyone says he has. Bite your tongue and move on.

That is right Walinbl. Put USC in the SEC and it is a whole different world. I know a lot is said about the SEC having great defences but it is true. Take Alabama for example. The defense just sworms. You never know what they will do next. I know there are other great defences, that is just an example. I just didn't see either of those teams the other night sworming on defense. I know you have to have a good offence too but defence diffinately wins games.
