Poor Art. I've met him before and he's really a great guy, never had the pleasure of meeting his wife though.

Thoughts and prayers to him and his family.

i first heard on the 3840khz radio stream from art's smeter.net website. (BTW, if there are art bell fans that want to listen in on ham radio conversations between art and his ham pals, check out www.smeter.net, but you need to use VPC w/windows because it doesn't work on a mac!)

the channel is usually pretty chatty but last last was unusually quiet. someone had mentioned feeling terrible about art's loss so i quickly logged onto the coast to coast website where i saw the official news about ramona's death.

to tell you the truth, i don't listen to coast too much these days unless a really compelling guest is on. george is a good host, but i long for the days when art was at the controls on coast2coast.

anyway, terrible loss for the c2c community. ramona was art's soulmate and to hardcore coast2coast fans art bell and ramona were like family. i hope art stays strong.

Love Coast to Coast. It's amused me through many a boring night (while I played a game or something of that nature).

I hate hearing that.

I heard that show a few times while up with a very pregnant wife. I think some of the callers had pulled a quarter from under the couch in the day room and managed to find the pay phone.

I remember one show in which two "experts" debated whether or not we went to the moon. One argued that we never went, a hoax. The believed that we did go, but that most of it was faked because we went to the dark side of the moon to communicate with aliens. Scary business.

Precisely why I love the show.

Another great story was the guy who believed his dead wife was communicating to him by randomly switching on/off the lights in his bedroom. He believed that she was using some type of code, but hadn't deciphered it yet. He's been working on it for years.

Awe man, that sucks.

I used to listen to Art/George all the time on my way home from school (hour drive.) Was a hoot.

That's very unfortunate, especially reading it was due to asthma. Asthma stinks.

hehe i know which show you are speaking of. that one was a classic. it was wayne green vs. richard c. hoagland.

wayne green is the guy who eats nothing but raw food and wants hollywood produced dvds to educate our youth instead of real teachers because he claims our teachers are the 'bottom feeders' of society and that 20% of them are illiterate anyway! he also claims that his bio-electrifyer can cure cancer are AIDS!

richard c. hoagland is the fast talking psuedo-scientist who is always crying afoul about NASA alien conspiracies.

great show, i wish i had taped it.

Apparently Art's teenage son was kidnapped, raped, and is now HIV+. The guy has had a sad life in recent years.
