Is the battery life as bad as other Nokias?

I am curently using the 6680, which is the european version of the 6682. It is a nice phone, works great with iSync. The battery life could be better, if you do a lot of bluetooth syncing it goes down real quick. The camera ist OK, but only in good light situations. The big designflaw is the lid on the back of the phone. I saw phones where this lid got quite wobbly.

I bought the Nokia 6682 (unlocked) at CompUSA last week. I have no experience on Symbian OS what-so-ever. Now, I'm kind of getting used to it.

The battery life wasn't that good on this phone. I used to be a big Nokia fan (6190, 8290) and then jumped ship to S/E T637.

The 6682 only offers a single camera instead of two on the 6680 (3G phone).

If you find a good deal, go for it. Since my 1-yr contract with Cingular ended last October and the sale rep told me that the 6682 won't be on shelf for weeks, so I ended up going to CompUSA for the unlocked phone.

The RS-MMC card comes in handy.

I enjoy my 6630. The OS is rock solid, and I've never had an issue with the battery life. Even with BT turned on.

I'm a SonyEricsson guy myself, although the Treo bug has bitten me as well. I like the SE software better than the stuff that Nokia uses (non-smartphone) but neither one is going to win any awards. Don't know about the Nokias, but with the SonyEricssons you can program your own shortcuts into the shortcut buttons. I reprogrammed two of them so my SE V800 goes into silent mode with just the tough of a button, and I can toggle bluetooth on/off with another button. It's the stuff I use a lot so having it on buttons rather than 4 or 5 steps into a series of menus just makes sense.

Once you get spoiled with Sony Ericssons battery life it is hard to go to a Nokia.

I just picked one up yesterday and I'm still in the "I love it" stage. I came over from a Treo 650, which I found to be too heavy & bulky. On paper this phone doesn't seem that different, but in my hand/pocket, it's noticibly lighter.

I still have a lot of questions about how to customize things (like how to activate the shortcuts, how to voice-dial, how to record messages), but I enjoy exploring what the device can do. All in all, I plan on keeping it.

Oh, and sync'ing with my mac has been pretty easy. I wish I knew how to send or sync notes to the phone, but hopefully I'll figure that out later.

Whatever - hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

SonyEricsson K750i has the best camera of any phone if that matters to you. As a 2MP pixel camera it's my backup camera for anywere I can't or won't bring my Olympus E-300. (You generally don't lug SLRs everywhere ).

I bought this at compusa a few weeks ago and am very happy. The sync works great (bluetooth apparetly required) and am now messing with the MP3 player. I would recommend it. Email is also a plus and it flawless.

Good luck. sw
