Nice, but it would be funnier if it were a 2-up with Gates' presentation video side by side the Mac examples.

So Apple rips off "widgets" and a few other features and sells it to 1% of the computer market. Microsoft is just doing the same thing on a much, much larger scale.

That is absolutely beautiful. I watched the CES video with Gates' presentation. It was sickening.

Bill Gates love's attention.

I just skimmed through the keynote. Here is a summary:

Bill Gates speaking in his typical nerdy voice. Shows some interesting concepts for the "future" of computing.

Another geek comes out, he sounds like he is the lovechild of Bill Gates and our very own James. He gives an in-depth presentation of Vista.

Some hipster doofus from MTV comes on stage, rambles on about cultural revolutions and the new Urge service.

Justin Timberlake walks on stage.

The scene with Bill Gates standing on the stage, hands clasped, listening to a Justin Timberlake song playing was too much for me to take. I quickly closed WMP.

The juxtaposition of sexless, banal Gates and homo-erotic Justin Timberlake was too much for my brain to handle.

simply hilarious!

It's funny because every once in a while bill will say something that isn't in 10.4, (example: time restrictions for kids) and I say... Hmmm, why don't we have that... but I need to remind myself... 10.4 was released 9 months ago... and many of the new Vista things were in 10.3 or before.

It must be hard to hype something that's old news

C'mon!!! Vista and Mac OSX are completely different!!!

They have gadgets; we have widgets!!!!

They have a bashboard; we have a dashboard

They have eyePhoto; we have iPhoto

They have ApplicationOrganizerAtBottomOfScreen; we have Dock

They have Solitaire; we have Chess

No they didn't. It was a rehashed concept from NeXT, which Apple owns. Apple was definitely inspired by Konfabulator, it's a great example of how cool that Widget concept could be, but the idea was nothing new.

Ironically, Vista is more like the original NeXT version than it is the OS X implementation.
