Turns out that Polaris (aka "The North Star") is actually a trinary star system. The three stars make up the very bright spot we attribute as Polaris.

This was discovered after we pointed Hubble to it and took a few snapshots.

Perhaps the most important star in history (well next to our own sun) and we just discover that its really 3 stars!? Makes me wonder what else they have missed.

Well i guess i will be looking to see when they put this new information in Celestia.

My Polaris always gets clogged-up with dead frogs and June bugs.

That makes tricky orbits, like, beyond the three-body thingie.

Picture a woman with three breasts (or a guy with three testes if that's your thang).

Crazy man. Crazy.

I'd like to **** like there is no tomorrow until you'd see stars.

At least 3.

With besson3c and cubeoid and wdlove to give advice.

Now, to play that game, you need to bring a feather. I'll be patient...

"We"? Do you work with the HST? Or do you simply mean people in general?

It's MY tax money. But, no, I don't work with Hubble. I meant "we" as in the guys who control Hubble.

they didn't miss it...scientists already knew about Polaris Ab by observing gravitational effect on the NS. It's just the first time it was captured in a photo.

ON TOPIC: Looks like my recently purchased copy of Starry Night is already obsolete/wrong. I wonder if they'll offer a downloadable patch.

No actually the north star has it's connection with the birth of a particular person. Which is part of the trinity.

Wasn't really a analogy.
