I am considering signing up for the SpyMac Club, which bills itself as a cheaper ($25/year) alternative to .Mac. However, when I tried to register, the graphic for those funky letters you have to type in to prove you're human didn't show up (looks like a broken link), and that doesn't inspire confidence.

Does anybody have experience with these folks? Is the service any good? Comments, please!

I've seen emos post their own pic (of course, they hide a big part of their face, blur the pic, change perspective) on the gallery. I'm tempted to say no.

1) Yes
2) No

Very flaky and unprofessional. Reliability and availability is barely acceptable for a free s
service, I wouldn't pay for it.

Just look at their transition to the new services. Was supposed to take 3 days or so, took them more than 2 months.

Well, thanks gang. You just saved me $25.00 I'd would have never gotten back. Given my experience trying to register, I must say I'm not terribly surprised.

Mhh, I´ve registered today. They are offering now the Club for free. So I will test it (seems that it is for free for a period of 30 days) and then decide if I will spend money on it.

I used to logon to Spymac.com several times a day, but after v3 I simply stopped going there.

it's pretty over there, i'll give them that

oh, and i've been using their webhosting for a long time now. never really had any troubles. (though that last "revision" kinda deleted all the things i'd uploaded, but hey free is free)

late late edit: and by pretty, i mean the site is pretty, but unfortunately there is little or no content.

Myspace eh. Fine. I don't have to be of some computer commutity to tell MySpace sucks. Or Spymac.

I buy by own service and it is far superior to both those mediocre - to - crappy services. Of course YMMV.
