Who's in? I still can't decide how I will watch this season. Since I am in Germany (where S 4 did not even run on TV…) my only option is to acquire it … another way. God bless HDTV and those folks recording it!

I've jumped the 24 train rather late, when season 2 was just finished on German TV. I watched S1 and S2 on DVD, and did dl S3 after it was aired in the US.

I did watch S4, however, by the way of dl the recent episode about one day after it aired, and it was so stressing that I could not just go on to the next episode, like it is when watching it from DVD. That sucked and was cool the same time, and I don't know if I can take it this time and wait with watching until S5 has finished.

How are you watching? Any other non US 24 fans here?

Season 4 was so bad, I dunno...

I loved seasons 1 and 2. Three was OK. Four had me laughing more often than not. Horrible stereotypes, bad acting, ridiculous plot... you name it.

How many times can they
  • Have a mole in CTU
  • Setup a "protocol" to do magic stuff
  • Break the law
  • Have Jack go against 30 armed men with machine guns, and he takes them out with his pistol and ninjitsu
  • Make key characters just vanish with lame explanations
  • Kim. Need more be said?
  • Compltely disregard science, and play up on people's irrational fears
  • Torture the wrong person [DOH, my bad!]
  • Have Yet Another Crisis in Los Angeles
  • Re-instate Jack after firing/resigning/whatever him for gross misconduct

I'm sure the list goes on and on. The worst part of season 4 was the secretary of defense (Hillerman??); oh man, that guy was a riot he was so bad. After the terrorists lost magic control of all but six of the nuclear reactors his key line was "Then we're looking at .... a NUCLEAR HOLOCAUST!" [dum dum dum!]

I thought 4 was slightly better than 3. I'll give 5 a chance.

Meanwhile, Kiefer Sutherland lives a rather normal life...
At 2am bar staff refused to serve any more alcohol. Undaunted, Kiefer persuaded management to let them loose in the lobby.

He ordered yet more booze on room service, then staggered around the entrance hall, entertaining pals with a bizarre, flailing breakdancing routine.

It was then that a huge Christmas tree caught his eye.

"I hate that f***ing Christmas tree," he declared. "The tree HAS to come down."

ink, it's called television series.

Your critic is valid, but you miss the point. It's all about "Have Jack go against 30 armed men with machine guns, and he takes them out with his pistol and ninjitsu", because nobody can do this in RL and thus we enjoy this very primitive way of entertainment.

I mean, 24 is like a 16 hour James Bond whithout the girls and the jokes.

I have watched it since the beginning. I had a very good feeling about it and I was not wrong. Also, have a friend tape it in the United States and send it to you via the internet or by mail.

Season 4 was the best one, there were some episodes that I was constantly on the edge of my seat.

Can't wait until season 5 starts; wondering what happened after the end of season 4.

Haven't seen season 1 yet. I started watching 24 a few episodes into season 2 and got hooked. Bought season 3 and laughed/grimaced through most of it. The second half of season 4 hasn't been released on DVD here yet but I'll probably buy both halves when it comes out (along with the season 1 DVDs), as I've been reliably informed they all suck less than season 3.

I'll be watching. I've been a fan from Day 1 (literally, ha ha). I don't think I'll enjoy any season as much as the first one, but I'm in it for the long haul. As a comic-book collector, I prefer to watch it weekly.

If I were forced to pick the weakest season, I think I'd go with S3. That being said, even that had the excellent episode where Jack killed Chappelle. Now that was great TV.

Yes, three was the worst one, but it had it's moments.

Uhhh, OK.

Although I stand by my comment that Season 4 is pretty damn funny. In an MST3K way.

Maybe it's because I used to work for a DOE nuclear site, but the whole premise for Season 4 was so ridiculous that I couldn't turn my Suspend Disbelief dial up far enough.

SWEET!!!11!

I cannot BELIEVE they killed-off Palmer! I had a feeling Michelle would get killed, so I was right about that.

Man, I wish I was Jack.

Everyone that love that show already know who got killed so it is not a big deal to use the names.

I always wonder who are the Germans, and who is the guy on the yatcht at the end of season 3.

...except Andreas, who is in another country. He just asked for opinions with no spoilers a few posts ago.

There does seem to be a lot of excitement around the series, "24." Unable to get it on our cable. DVD would be the only answer. Which is a possibility,

I hope you added some extra time. The show started late due to the football game.

wd, your cable provider doesn't carry the network Fox? As well, you could watch it by using rabbit ears over-the-air.

Yeah it was the most pointless post-game show ever. I hate FOX.
