Personally, I shall only refer to it as 'The Scottish Laptop'.

Isn’t “Mac” Irish, and “Mc” Scottish, chiefly?

Speaking of which, Mac Búch (closest to ‘book’ I could find) means “affectionate son”.

Actually, I was trying to make an obtuse gag about Macbeth. The OP's quotation was from Macbeth which I rather liked, and it got me thinking that because actors famously refuse to say 'Macbeth' as it brings bad luck to do so – they say 'The Scottish Play' instead - I kind-of thought it was witty to only refer to the new machine only as 'The Scottish Laptop. Arf.

Well, that one just went straight over this uncultured little puppy’s head, since I’ve never read Macbeth and didn’t know it was bad luck to say ‘Macbeth’.

There's something about breaking a leg vs. good luck, too, isn't there?

Introducing the new MacBook.

If it's not Scottish, it's CRAP!

Did someone call a pedant?

It's only bad luck to say the name of the play in a theatre. It's considered a very serious faux pas: say it backstage and you have to touch wood, leave the room and ask to be readmitted. Depending on cast and crew, they may not let you back in for a while.
