one of my profs at UH bred either green mice or rats in 2001. pretty cool to see it works in something pig sized.

Ok... if someone here actually has background in working with transgenic species vairents, could you please explain the actual utility of having a glowing pig?

They mention in the article that, if they transplant green tissue or organs into another animal/person, it'll be much easier to see how that tissue grows/develops compared to the animal's own tissue around it.
