Are you known throughout the internet? I know that MacNN has at least 2 regular members whose names I've seen cited in other blogs and forums.

Are any of you intarweb-spanning celebrities? Does your online handle ring bells wherever nerds congregate?

My 15 minutes of internet fame:

P.S. Here my favourite post in the /. thread:

That sound you hear...

(Last Journal: Tuesday July 12, @12:20PM)
is the sound of Apple's laywers starting firing off letters to EverythingApple.
You have to do a click-through NDA just to get the -current- version ( 4.0.1 ) of the CHUD tools, I don't want to think about where this guy got his clearly pre-release copy of CHUD 4.1.0.

Are there sites that show off pre-release Microsoft software covered by NDAs? Where can you get the unannounced plans for Intel's next big thing? Why is it that people don't expect Apple to sue their pants off when they report this stuff ??

Don't get me wrong, I'm big on freedom of speech, press, and just about anything else, but... if it was my company whose not-publicly-announced-plans were being outed all over the internet, I'd be pissed, and probably suing, if just to find the source of the leak and fire someone.

Clearly, Apple's not going to make too big a deal out of this, since it's info in an app that anyone can download ( after creating a free account [apple.com] and clicking past an NDA ) , but still... I certainly wouldn't put this kind of stuff up on *my* website without a sure way to keep the lawyers at bay. On the other hand, since the noted version isn't actually available _yet_, they might sue... maybe it wasn't going to go out until after Apple announced quad-processor plans. Given Apple's recent lawsuits ( and court victories ) in this area, I'd think people would be a *little* more careful what they blog, but I guess not. Eug looks pretty annon, I don't know what you have to do to get an EverythingApple blog going, maybe he feels that Apple just can't get to him. For his sake, I hope he's right.

In any event, it'll be interesting to see how long AnythingApple can keep this page up, and I am definitely keeping my eye out for a new CHUD update...

quad G5s?? Damn, I almost forgot to drool about that !! 64-bit number-crunching goodness!!

I wonder who came up with LOL?

I like to think that I introduced the ellipses to online conversation. I recall about 10 years ago, when IMing was starting to become popular, I was frustrated with the formality of periods, and the way that they restrict the flow of online dialogue. Then one day I noticed that in Peanuts, Charles Schultz often ended sentences with an ellipses, so I began to do the same in my conversations. Now, years later, a lot of people do it and it is very annoying ... but obviously I was not the first person to do it, I just like to think so :-D

Famous? Depends on the circle.

I've had a #1-Top Rated YTMND.
I've had a #1 popular track on a site that merged with MP3.com awhile ago.

Meh, my name is original enough that a Google search will show everywhere I've been. Most of it is ancient though... in fact, never mind. I strongly suggest that no one Googles my screen name.

A Polish site uses my last name for whatever they do (I don't speak Polish, sadly). http://www.nowina.com.pl and http://www.nowina.pl

Does that count?

You'll get a modest number of hits googling my name. I have some things published. In a humorous turn, a foreign site once quoted me on an Apple topic in a way that made it appear I was an industry pundit. I'm definitely thankful I'm not overexposed.

I had my 15 minutes back in the Public Beta days.

I was the first one to completely theme OS X with "original" graphics. (Basically made OS X look like a modern OS 9) with the "Sosumi" theme.

Later I learned to love a stripe-less Aqua.

I like consistency.

But other than that... no.

Of course I am. I’m so Internet-famous that even the poor children in Africa who have never even heard of the Internet know who I am. That’s how Internet-famous I am.

No, seriously—I damn well hope I’m not. No fame for me, please: I far prefer relative anonymity.

thats about it.

It'd be nice if someone would create some kind of googlewhack about me, like searching for my name would bring up some animal porn, well tactful animal porn.

Oh, I'm not this guy in case you wondered...

nope. It takes several pages on google before you get to a reference that's actually me. Damn having a last name that is also a regular noun.

my screenname is slightly more accurate, but there are lots of imposters.

Well, I don't know about "famous" but I am the first couple of results when you search for my name.

I probably get more hits to my site from my Vector Safari than anything else. Got a big boost from a link on SimpleBits and a few other sites.

Probably get more when I do the Vector Firefox...

What’s a pandi? A baby panda?

Googling my real name, the first 30 or so results are links to my site, various posts on various forums made by me, and such. After that, I get a few of my family members, and then random sites that happen either (or all) of my names on various places, but unrelated to me. Searching for my name in quotation marks yields only 19 results, all of them directly connected to me.

This is because, while my last name is relatively common in French-speaking countries (Jacquet), both my first name (Janus) and my middle name (Bahs—my mother’s last name) are quite rare, especially Bahs.

Dude, everybody knows it was Joey that did that first.

And Zero Cool by the time the Gibson was hacked was Crash Override. Crash and Burn. Get it?

Amazing how that movie can make one of the sexiest women on the planet not that attractive. Who was in charge of her wardrobe?
