It is when more and more web sites require WMP for viewing media content (some also require IE + Windows).

Those sites ain't worth bothering with. Rent a DVD instead.

id say thats a pretty significant loss. perhaps not right this moment as you can use something like videolan to play wmv, but as the format evolves and you're left out in the cold...

I don't like it when MS excludes any platform from anything they make. I still feel they have a choke hold around, simply because most joes have a windows machine, and they don't know any better about using a non-proprietary format.

Flip4Mac is good but does not cut it for most, if not all, streaming content. That's a big problem.
